Jazz having James Johnson Workout

I don't think James Johnson can bring anything that Jeremy Evans couldn't do potentially. Just judging from potential. If they add another PF, please add one who can shoot the basketball.

If they do sign him, it proves that they are -not- tanking. There is no reason to sign players like him if all they want to do is tank. They have no reason to waste the money if they already have 13 players plus an extremely cheap team option. They are trying to win, and I'm ecstatic.

Maybe they want to push Favors, Kanter and Evans more in practice. So they compete for minutes. That usually getts the best out of guys.
James Johnson has a whole different talent level than aforementioned. But if they don't play hard, James Johnson can definately look good next to them.

Dude has a natural athletic ability and talent - is a bit like poor man's AK, can do everything and at one point I thought he will be the next 5X5 guy ( remember him abusing Hayward in Utah when Raptors won in double overtime where he had like 6 blocks in that game). But I think he did have a bit of a pot problem back in Toronto, not sure he got his head straight since then.

Pretty sure a large number of nba players have a pot problem. And play too many of those gosh darn video games. And have you heard how loud they play their music?! Darn kids!

i hope the jazz sign james johnson!! hes fat and can do a standing backflip, the above buzzerbeater was one of my personal favorite plays of last season

That's right! So if we do sign Johnson do you think we would sign McNeal or keep a spot open for injury insurance.

McNeal has a non-guaranteed deal. That means we could still keep him through the end of December before having to make a decision. Any time during that period, the Jazz can just release him if needed.

Here is a kid from a good family and wouldn't mind living in Utah at all. He from Cheyenne Wyoming. Since im close to the Wyoming border I followed him closely from high school and at wake forest. Kid just need a chance and playing time

A positive post from ncjazz. Didn't think it possible, but congrats.

Now this has my attention.
Plz sign JJ. Plz. (in reference to buzzer beater vids)
Hey, those are great videos, we should go sign Sundiatta also, he beat the fargin Cavs with one.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against the signing, but you have to look at the entire picture. Speaking of which, is anyone surprised at all the his career went downhill when he played for the Kings? In analyzing him, I would throw away that year and look at prior seasons, and doing that, he isn't half bad. At a good price he would make a good player, though it would spell disaster for Evans.

So Cy.... You have more faith in a guy who for three years hasn't sniffed the rotation at any level, and look who agrees with you... None other then batpoop.

That guy has been behind two #3 picks and two proven NBA starters. James Johnson played on scrub teams behind scrub players.

Utah Jazz: the team where washed up vets go to 'resurrect' their careers. Sometimes it works. sometimes You know, if they do sign this guy, folks can no longer say that the Jazz have no bench, and in that case, it'll all depend on how the 'young' players do. I hate to break it to the tankers, but the Jazz could actually play alright.

I've liked him ever since that Bulls game where he blocked the **** out of us and hit that buzzer beater. I thought he was going to be a real player. I would like to see what he can do on the Jazz minus all the distractions.

I think if James Johnson can return to his early years and maybe live up to his potential, he could be a good replacement for DeMarre Carroll. Good idea eventually to secure him now and have a low price energizer from the bench who can shut down wings.

He's a decent defender, and he's a decent though not great athlete. He could bring some toughness. He hasn't been much of a scorer though.

He was a good athlete in college who used his strength and athleticism to score, but he lost that advantage in the pros. He does seem to fit into that Thomas Robinson, Tim Thomas category.
