Tell Us Who Got Banned Thread Closed?

If all alts could behave themselves, there probably wouldn't be an issue, but in reality, alts create a lot of extra work for the moderators.

Not all are born of nefarious purposes, but some are, and therein lies the problem. Allowing alts on a case by case basis would be even more work.

It's really easy to sit back and argue that alts are no big deal when you aren't the one that has to deal with the residual headache.
No need to defend the premise, bronc. The sophomoric actions of a few retards are worthy of ignore. Ignore -- ignorant.

smd at you mouth-breathers. You should be ashamed of yourselves for putting bronc in this position. Ashamed.

kkk?

Must spread the rep

Fair enough. Before I provide my perspective though, let's have those that used alts (previously of course) tell us all why they felt they needed them. :-)

I "needed" them because you kept banning me for silly reasons. I totally promise they were silly.

If they were good quality, perhaps it wouldn't be bad. But once you allow it for anyone, then you open the door to things such as:

* people ganging up on other posters (i.e. one poster pretending it's three against one instead of one against one), and with other type of "sock puppet" behaviors.

I've yet to see this, nor do I really think it happens on any other board but Spurstalk.

I agree. My only point is we also should be sincere about how the site has to be administrated and how taxing it would be.

If it were my site, I'd be selling indulgences. $50.00 per infraction removal. I'm actually serious about this one.

^I see nothing wrong with what you proposed E.J.

It's how the world works. It's a fine. Want to pay your speeding ticket? Fine. Don't? Fine. License suspended.

I see the election campaign fund raising is moving forward too slow :D But props for creativity.

That's assuming that it is moving forward at all. In fact, if not for PKM's generous donation, I'd still be sitting with my thumb corked up my bung.

Careful

next thing you know the headline in the Taylorsville Times will read..

"Ballou bought by out of state special interests"

I am in state.. not that that little fact would dissuade media from that very headline.

Dude, you know I've got your back. You can expect enough from me to buy at least a letter on one of your signs.
