So not having had double digits before precludes the possibility of ever getting double digits? Then how does anyone ever get double digits in anything? Because basically you are saying it will never happen. I think that is a weak assertion.

Also, I was talking about the likelihood. I do not think Burke will win ROY. And I think with the changes in the lineup Hayward has a shot at a triple double. Frankly, I don't think either are that likely to happen, but imo it is more likely that Hayward will get a TD than Burke win ROY.

I was simply asking a question. I'm curious to know how many times Hayward has gotten double digit assists in his career.

sheesh

In all seriousness he has had 7 or more rebounds multiple times, also 7 or more assists, with more than a few 8 assist games. Wouldn't be a very big stretch to see him put it together one game and get the TD.

Most likely, what is going to happen is the Jazz will play maybe two incredible games that will get your hopes up. You'll be up on your feet and then they'll pull the rug out from under you leaving you laying on the floor with a sore back wondering "WTF?".

It looks very bleak from a mathematical perspective, but with increased minutes and more ball movement (the Alfense factor) he could do it.

I'm sold on Hayward's progression atm (he's my breakout All-Star candidate this year), but think this line of reasoning needs a little more context.

Hayward's #'s will go up based on his effectiveness, and would have last season if he was more consistent than Jefferson. "More ball movement" - same answer. There would have been more movement last year had the players been more competent and effective. Simply subtracting Jefferson won't create more in itself. It's up to the players to take that next step. Hayward's use% wasn't all that low last season anyway -- 22.1% compared to 25.3% Alfense. Al's 1236 shots will get distributed around of course, but many of those will go to Favors and Kanter.

Fun fact: Hayward scored 26% fewer points than Jefferson on 37% fewer shots.

Very true, this new team will have to do something about it.

Replacing Jefferson with a less effective version of Jefferson won't be good, but the Kool Aid tells me this will not happen. Please tell me Kanter will learn to pass out and that wii did not just replace Alfense with Kantfense. I don't think this will happen, but it is a small worry in the back of my mind when thinking about our post play.

Kantfense is pretty likely to me. I don't see a problem with it either since Malone was pretty darn fun to watch.

Seemed to me that Corbin was training the team for this transition all last season. Adding more emphasis on other elements is going to be commensurate with Trey Burke's abilities and Hayward's growth. I don't see much else other than that unless Favors develops an outside shot, which is an outside chance this season.

Do you have any specific plays in mind that you'd like to see Wii put in play? Change would have been nice last year, but Mo Williams Mo'd us over.

I would like to see more of a decent PnR, and I would like to see more backdoor cuts to keep the defense honest

I also enjoy just a basic give and go type play where the first passer gets to the rim so quickly that a good second pass gets them a layup before any help can get there.

I don't have anything specific in mind, but I do enjoy good ball movement.

I would like to see us step up the tempo. With this group we should be able to run pretty well...or at least frequently, and that would be fun to watch.

So what you are saying is that Burks will not break out.

:(

This year will be an experimental test field for Corbin compared to the other years since he took over. What he has in his hands is an unshaped pieced of art that is made of some pretty valuable rock. It will be hard to break but once it's finished, it will stay there and season like a quality wine. His real coaching starts now. If he ****s this up not in talent to coach but the intention to back down young players burst-outs, his *** will be welcomed to be kicked out.

Not a lot of confidence in Corbin. But it is unlikely the Jazz fire him, with Mrs. Larry Miller still around, so we are stuck with him.
