Game Thread: Utah @ BYU, Sat. 9/21 8:15pm MT, ESPN2

So basically ute fans think a story making byu look good is all BS and byu fans think it may be accurate?..... shocker

You really believe that Utah State Prison inmates were so touched by the trials and tribulations of a guy that got caught drinking alcohol that one of them started a slow clap and the inmates chanted byu "louder than in any stadium on Saturday"?

Also, if it's just an unbiased article, why randomly bring up how vial Utes fans are?

I asked this before, but what is supposed to be inspiring about hadleys situation? I don't understand what he has done that is courageous. I don't look down upon him for what he did in the slightest, just don't get what "redemption" he has had in the last 10 days. Did people expect him to die or something after he got caught?

Can a byu person please chime in on this?^

Actually, I strongly implied that the very premises by which BYU is made to look good are ridiculous. This has nothing to do with me being a Ute fan. It has everything to do with me spotting garbage when I see it.

Also, Colton liked the quoted text. Hahaha.

I'm also awaiting answers to the same questions.

*vile

Ute fans are vile, not vial.

Your welcome

Oh, I agree--it's clear that he BECAME a BYU fan--apparently BYU fans impressed him whereas Ute fans did not. But he didn't start out with an agenda. At least, I'm willing to take him at his word that that was the case.

So he "became" a fan of BYU through his writings over the years and that had no bearing on the article he wrote last week? Keep drinking the kook-aid Colton.

Usually Green's posts are pretty anti-BYU even for my tastes but I've gotta admit, the last few pages he has been nailing it. Shame on Benedict for publishing the compliance officer's name (100% bush league journalism) and shame on BYU fans for harassing her. But hey, they have no problem nearly assaulting K-Whit's wife. Why would this poor woman be any different? And yes, I think Benedict is a flat-out liar. I do not believe that his faith and opinion of BYU did not come into play in this article and I do not believe for 1 second that Hadley was about to turn himself in and an email just happened to appear. The article is a joke written by an LDS shill.

So your attitude is just to call everyone liars? Max Hall must have lied about the beer. This guy must have lied about the beer. I'm not sure if you're also one of the ones calling him a liar about the prison incident, but if so then that's just one more thing you can't accept as reality (despite it being easily falsifiable).

Maybe, just maybe, you should open your mind a bit.

Maybe you should put out an APB for your common sense. You do realize that the Max Hall story has been debunked from every angle, right? While you can probably get away with sneaking in a small amount of alcohol to any stadium, how did these people sneak in enough beer to drink over the course of a game and still have enough to shower Max's mom? With multiple event staff and security posted in each seating area, how were these people able to openly drink beer over the course of the game and then assault somebody with the evil beverage? How, in a stadium with 50,000 people in it (some of them BYU fans) was there not one single witness to the alleged assault?

Max Hall lied. His parents lied. They are liars and there's not one shred of factual evidence that would prove otherwise.

Let's pretend Max wasn't lying. Did you know that the fans in Arizona did THE EXACT SAME THING TO HIS FAMILY? So, either Max Hall is a liar, or his family is so awful to be around that people pour beer on him. That they smuggled in. And paid good money for.

Either way, the problem is once again, BYU players/fans. Not Utah players/fans. Everything that's wrong with this rivalry comes from the side that throws religion into it. Ironic.

""My uncle and my grandpa don't really like U of A," Hall said. "Playing at ASU and being spit on and having beer spilled on them, and all that stuff. ... "

I admit to being a troll to BYU fans. But it's because they live in fantasy land. This article proves it. I love BYU sports. My second favorite team. I watch all their games. I HATE BYU fans. Everything they pretend Utah fans do...they actually do. It's funny to sit back and watch.

I have been to utes games.... lots of beer is consumed, I'm surprised you didnt know this.
Maybe max hall lied but to say the way you know he is lying is because there couldnt possibly be beer available in the football stadium is flat out wrong

Possibly that hadley made a mistake and is now trying to change and redeem himself, repent, and learn from his mistakes.

Maybe some of the people in prison also made a mistake and are try to change and redeem themselves as well.

Maybe that created a connection between some of the inmates and hadley.

I don't know but its possible

Ya im sure Ute fans are right...... No one in byu's program has ever done anything good for anyone or inspired anybody.
Im sure all byu students and players are scum of the earth horrible people.... I mean can you believe how bad of a person you have to be to go to the prison and talk with the inmates and try to help them and inspire them.

Ute fans, you definitely have the proper response to this article. The article says that the byu football team went to the prison to talk with the inmates and that they actually inspired those inmates...... So of course the only proper response would be to bash the article and talk ****.

How refreshing would it be for a Ute fan to say something like "Good on the byu football program for trying to make a difference in the inmates lives"? (especially since there are so many Mormon ute fans, it seems like there would be a few who would support this kind of activity)

Still have not heard a ute fan say anything positive about how byu holds it players accountable when they break the rules.... That would be incredible to hear as well considering how many programs around the country try to cheat the system...... Then we see byu suspending star players for breaking rules and all I see is trash talk.

Year after year I hate the utes less and less and even find myself liking a lot of their players, and then ute fans show me how much hate they have for anything byu related and it just makes it tough to like the utes.

Byu does a good deed and goes to the prison to try to help out some inmates.... Lets bash em.
Hadley goes out and has some drinks at a club, something lots of us do myself included, byu suspends him for five games for it..... Lets bash em.

Ute students make a video making fun of missionaries..... barely a word is said about it.
Seems about right.

You (and Spazz, who likey) need to read the article again. Even in this wildly cinematic tale Hadley isn't doing much on his own initiative: he's hesitant to get on the bus, he speaks only after asking if the coach wanted him to, etc. Your post does very little to answer UGLI's question.

It's funny that in a day and time where every human being alive is carrying a cell phone camera that none of these beer pouring incidents have ever been caught on tape. What has been caught on tape is a byu fan trying to assault coach Whittinghams wife, a byu fan attacking a Utes cheerleader on the field, byu fans throwing trash at referees, and a byu player yelling "**** you" at a Utes fan. Why is there no videos of things like this with Utes fans?

There is a 0% chance the beer incident ever happened. I've been to every Utes home game the last 10 years, and it's a laughable scenario, just like the byu "remember the titans" prison story.

PS: I generally think green is a retard but he nailed it with Max Hall lying about beer incidents at both schools he attended.
