I Wonder if the Jazz F/O Regret This

First, MCW is basically Burks. Burke will be a much better fit with what we have. Second, almost nobody wanted MCW over Burke and McCollum. The revisionist history when he comes back to earth will be comical.

MCW has always been a playmaker for others, Burks has always (until Jazz asked him to try his hand at PG) been a playmaker for himself. How are they similar?

I was an MCW supporter, as was HotNicKkk. I've already shown the links t
Proving my pre-draft support. No revisionist history here.

MCW was my top choice right before draft, while Schroeder was for most of the process (kind of got nervous after his 1280 interview after workout). Really was a toss up between those two. I stated multiple times thatI was unsure abou t Burke after learning if his unwillingness to go head to head with Schroeder, MCW or McCollum. I liked Burke idea until he was out of our range. I wanted to move up for MCW, or stay put and Take Schroeder @ 14 in the weeks prior to draft night.

Please go back and re-read my posta from this thread. I stated many times that I am equally as surprised as the next, and that I expect him to level off a bit. Before you put your panties on, maybe you should get your facts straight. The post of mine you quoted was in response to people saying he had already started to come down, which wasn't true.

But it is a fact that I saw something in him that others here did not see. Was it his 3pt fg%? Absolutely not. I saw: a 6'6" PG, someone who had incredible court vision, could disrupt the passing lanes, had the body yt allow for easier finishes, someone who would be tough to ahoot over if I was a smaller PG, someone who had good form and mechanica with their shooting stroke but lacked enough spin and arc (so I believe, and stated many time would be fixable, especially when we used to have Hornacek), and someone who was turnover prone and need a tughter handle (which is also fixable with work). I saw someone with confidence and humility who could lead a team.

Per your huge post where you think you sonned me--wigga please. I know what his stats were, and realize he is playing better than he ever has, but it doesn't take away from the potential that he still posessed pre-draft.

All of this.

Hello no. If MCW is for real, the Sixers lucked out. They will be ahead of the curve in their rebuild process. They traded Jrue Holiday (good PG) for Noel and a 14 draft pick, and used their own pick to get a PG they had no idea would be so good (if he remains so). The MCW-Hawes pick n' pop has worked really well for them, Turner seems to have turned the corner on his way to becoming the player he was drafted to be, and when Noel comes back he'll be a defensive beast. They'll have the Pelicans pick, and their own to round out the rest of their team. If MCW is for real, they don't need to tank.

Re: Burke VS MCW

I think the Jazz FO in the ended decided to go with the player that's best suited to the current personnel and the style of play of the Utah Jazz, which is to say, run half court sets, inside-out paint dominated game. In light of that I think Burke fits that kind of system much better. A guy who has a very good assist/TO ratio, and historically has been a very good 3pt shooter.

MCW obviously had the upside of size and length, rangy defender and being able to finish at the rim, which obviously suits the run & gun style that the 76ers are implementing at the moment with the darth of front court talent that they have.

To be honest, even if the Jazz had drafted MCW, I don't think he would have thrived here the way he's relishing the opportunity to run the floor in that 76ers offence.

just watched the philly game. wasnt impressed. there, i can make an observation on 1 game too.

MCW wasn't a good finisher in college.

That he was not.

People always say Burke can't finish at the rim yet ignore the fact that he shot a higher % from around the rim than the more physically gifted PG's in the draft (MCW, McCollum), and did it while being two years younger than them.

Favors maybe you actually supported MCW for the majority of the process. I'm mainly targeting hotttttttttttnnnnnnnniiiiiiiccccccckkkkk here who loves every player at various points because then he can never be wrong.
