Can the C.J. Miles experiment please end?

One of my most hated Jazz players ever was Jeff Malone. That son of a bitch would throw up shot after shot after freakin' shot, in spite of the fact that none of them were coming anywhere close to going in. Therefore, a part of me understands the hate directed at CJ. The kid needs to learn to recognize when he's having one of those nights when he's lucky to hit the rim, and quit chucking so much. I thought he did that a little tonight in the fourth when he took it to the rim and scored 4 buckets in just over 2 minutes. And yes, CJ did play a key role in the 4th tonight to help send this game to overtime.

I see a lot of complaints, but haven't yet seen any realistic alternatives suggested. My feeling is that CJ isn't going to live up to some people's unrealistic expectations, but that he will continue to contribute and help Utah win games, while occasionally driving us all nuts.

What unrealistic expectations? I'm sure we'd all be happy if he plays as well as he did tonight. It's not unrealistic to expect him to stop chucking when he's 1-10.

I would not want to be trying to defend Miles unless on the court. On the court you want to give him those open threes. Any team should just leave him open and they will win going away. It is entertaining and funny though to watch someone so bad getting to play so much.

I don't get this "stop chucking up shots" argument. If you are open, and its a good shot, shoot the damn ball. I'd be more pissed if he was passing up open shots. I don't get some of you people.

My expectations would be 4-9 every night. There's no reason for Miles to be chucking up 15 shots per game, not when he can't hit even 40%. And his 3's have just been awful. Missing them is one thing, but he's shooting airballs and barely drawing the board with others. But maybe that's the plan. That's one way to get the ball inside, I guess; have Miles bank it off the backboard and have Millsap, Jefferson and AK ready to rebound the miss.

Your shot doesn't start to come around if you stop shooting. But if you keep shooting and it never comes around, then that's a problem.

Miles had a fairly good game. Millsap was great, but you guys do realize that the Jazz just beat a team with Wade and Lebron, right? The Jazz wing players Miles, Kirilenko, and Bell deserve some credit for matching up with Wade and Lebron. If Miles and Bell were so bad as some here say , Millsap could have scored 60 and the Jazz still would have lost.

Miles with the highest +/- on the team....again? Whaaaaaa?

He's been in for the majority of both comebacks and has had a key role in both comebacks. The haters here will never acknowledge it. His shot is off, but in the Orlando game I thought he did a much better job with shot selection and made a great pass on one possession and continues to look pretty good defensively the last few games.

The less Miles shoots, the better the Jazz do. But that's obvious. I'd like to see the Jazz play an entire game without the chucker. If you look at his shot, it's mostly all arm. Good shooters are mostly wrist. Perhaps in another 6 years, he could learn to shoot a basketball, but for now just keep him out of the game.

For the sake of simplicity, could you just cut and paste the following for your posts: "I hate CJ Miles." It would make it simpler for all of us.

I've noticed that you and gregboncs work together in your defense of Miles. You scan the blogs looking for any CJ Miles comments. Clearly you are related to him or you are him.
