NFL Discussion Thread - 2013

Hmmm.

Going from Romo to Kaep is a downgrade IMO, Gio to Gore is an upgrade unless Cincy stops being retarded, Decker is a huge upgrade over Fitz.

Overall, I'd say you win. If Kaep does Well down the stretch you win big, if he doesnt and Gio gets the touches he deserves, you lose. Overall good trade.

One thing though, hope you dont need à win this week. Gonna be a rough week for Kaep and Gore going against Carolina's Run D.

His team just said they aren't planning to increase his touches, because they feel he is most effective with less carries

Well, that's actually not what they said. Jay Gruden said something more along the lines of "I'm happy with how the touches are now, but it's possible he (Gio) could get more touches later on down the road."

Either way, what Coaches say don't mean ****.

The Bengals are INSANE to not be using Bernard more. He is absolutely electric, and it's not like he is a little guy that can't take a beating, he's little in the mold of Maurice Jones Drew. A bowling ball type.
It's almost impossible to forecast RB's long term, but I could see him being the best RB in fantasy in a year or two.

Remember, I said I thought you won the trade, just saying Bernard could explode if the Bengals get their heads on straight.

agree with Bernard. I would've loved to keep him and hope that at some point they hand him the bulk of the work, but I'm a game out of the playoffs right now, and after waiting two month for the Bungles to see what's right in front of them, I've lost hope of that happening.

This is what I read...

(FFChamps)Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden indicated that running back Giovani Bernard will not get more touches despite vastly outperforming BenJarvus Green-Ellis. SOURCE: Joe Reedy, Cincinnati Enquirer
Analysis: "Some of these guys, it's important for them to be fresh, fast," Gruden said. "That's the way (Bernard) is. He needs to have full stamina and be fresh coming out of the backfield running fast because that's what he is. If he's tired after his 17th, 18th carry and all of a sudden he becomes a 4.8 guy and tired, he becomes an ordinary guy." Bernard is averaging 12.3 touches per game, and fantasy owners should expect his workload to remain in that territory. That keeps him in low-end RB2 territory.
dumbass Bungles!!

This makes me feel better about my trade.

(KFFL)Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden wants to limit RB Giovani Bernard's workload in the second half of the season in order to keep him fresh and healthy. In the last four games, RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis has 60 touches to 52 for Bernard. "To say we're going to give the ball to Gio 25 times each week is kind of unrealistic," Gruden said. "He needs spelling. He needs a bigger back in there like BenJarvus to take 10, 12, 15 carries a game."

I have a standing offer on the table. I give up Fred Jackson for RG3, and that's after RG3 went off. I have Gore, Ridley, Miller, and an injured McFadden, and BJGE. Should I?

Who's your QB now?

Can only play one QB, and can never have enough RB's.

One thing is that Spiller might actually be healthy now.

Good God the Colts blew the big one today. No offense to the Rams who played a hell of a game, but they aren't that good. But hell if they looked like the 85 Bears against the Colts today.

Man only the Phins GM could be this bad have this locker room issue and not to mention his Dez Bryant is your mom a hooker hanging over his head and not be fired.

I can't decide what was more pathetic my Phins tonight or the Jazz. Sadly I saw the loss coming on the 2nd play of the game and called it when they kicked the FG to go up 19-15, because after they got the INT to setup them up on the 8yrd they did the good old give up play calling settling for the FG when the INT set them up with only 8yrds for the TD.

Back to Ireland, his first round pick #5 overall this year DE/OLB Jordan well he plays a few plays every once in awhile (granted he was hurt coming into the season and the DL is the only saving grace on this team). This years 2nd round pick a OL who hasn't seen playing time since the preseason this coming from a OL that has given up more sacks than any other team and has one of the worst running games, this also coming from Incognito suspended and Martin leaving the team and he's still not playing. Speaking of Martin that was last years 2nd round pick that is now wasted since he wont play for the Phins ever again.

Now for the other 2nd round pick and 3rd round pick both CB's this is the worst position on the defense and Dimitri Patterson has only played in two games this year and both of these rookies combined haven't seen 10 regular season snaps that includes Patterson's backup Nolan Carroll being one of the worst starters in the league who also missed time with injuries.

That is just this years first 3 rounds, if you go back over his "reign" it is just as bad and any player that is actually good and stay in the NFL leave. If I thought anybody actually cared and this was more than just me venting I would and could give you names and more details to show just how bad he is. Also could show quotes from NFL players that aren't even on the Phins that can't stand him and say how bad he is and why they didn't come to MIA as a FA.

On top of that he threw a ton of money at Mike Wallace and they've barely worked him into the offense.

Tannenhill looks his way about 4 times a game. So now he has a pissed off, highly paid, Primma Donna WR to deal with as well.

And I'm generally one of the more optimistic fans of my teams that I know. For example I don't think all the problems are Corbin's fault and am fine with him this year. I didn't want Tony Sparano fired (just better assistants and GM) and and same for Philbin.

This is honestly the first time I've wanted someone in a FO position of any of my favorite teams fired, closest was several years ago Brian Sabean made some horrible trades but was fine with giving him more time and he definitely shown he is a good GM.

Granted I've wanted Ireland gone for at least 3yrs now.
