What's new

Jamaal Tinsley waived according to the internet

Since we won't be getting a PG that can run the plays until Burke is back, we need somebody that can pass the ball without turning it over, defend a little bit, dribble the ball up the court if needed, and hit a shot if all other options are not available. Tinsley can't shoot or defend, Lucas shoots too much and can't defend. Machado sucked.

It looks like we are stuck with Lucas for more minutes than any of us wants.

A pg that will defend, bring the ball up without turning it over, and get it to someone else that will run the offense without turning it over and then get open behind the 3pt line and hit a 3 if the shot clock is low and they are wide open. Is it too much to ask?

Apparently, yes it is when you are in Salt Tank City.

Ask Diante Garrett that.

He was truly a once in a life time player, and he will be greatly missed.

I don't know what is more amazing, that he shot 3 3-pointers a game as bad as he was shooting, or that he only made 1-25 3 pointers. I think I could do that left handed.

Did you mean to say that he greatly missed his shots?

His 3pt% is 4%. How many NBA PGs are capable of that? I stand by my statement.

Edit: It's important to remember that 100% of that 4% were wide open shots.

@sluhm: Tinsley was a Kevin O'Connor project. When he struggled this season, it's not surprising Dennis Lindsey gave him a quick hook.

It would be interesting to find I out if it was Corbin who asked for Tinsley instead of going with Machado or Lester.

Like Tinsley but it was clear he was done. Couldn't hit anything anymore.

Not a bad idea to try someone new. Welcome Diante Garrett!

Even if it was I think it's defensible. If Tinsley had played at least at last year's level AND mentored the young guys, he would have been fine.

I know Hudson is in China so he isn't available, but where is Machado? If he's unemployed or in the D-league, it's interesting to note that the Jazz STILL didn't pick him up.

Diante Garrett! From one Cyclone to the next!

Garrett has good length so that makes him better than Burke right?

Breakdown: Adequate defender because he is very lengthy for point guard. Very spotty shooter, okay passer, and thin.
I wouldn't expect much

@WojYahooNBA: Free agent point guard Kendall Marshall had been a consideration with Jazz and remains on radar elsewhere, league sources tell Yahoo.

We will probably sign someone but Dennis may want to see Burks at PG and be trying to force Corbins hand. Unlikely though. And hope not.
