Game(s) THREAD - UK vs. MichSt @ 5:30mst ESPN and KU vs. Duke @ 7:30mst ESPN

Bull ****.

He was a top ranked player coming in but everybody knew he lacked the athleticism to be great in the NBA. He's an okay college player that will get ****ing killed in the pros.. and Self has done NOTHING to make him better... damn.

I agree he's bad for the pros. I'm just saying he'll put up high point and rebound totals this year. But he's way better than the beginning of last year. I'm just saying Self has had players that have done similar things. Robinson didn't play much freshman year, put up huge numbers next year, sucks for the NBA. Wayne Simien was similar. Ellis is of that mold. Nick Collison also. He takes advantage by recruiting players that do not project well to the next level so they stay around for more than a year. That's all I'm sayin
And Smart will take Big 12 POY cuz he'll have points, rebounds, and assists. Ellis will have just points and rebounds

Disagree.

Cleveland took lebron because he WAS better than Melo. Detroit took Darko over melo because they thought he had more potential than the more proven Melo.

Remember now, lebron went 1, Darko 2, melo 3

Lebron wasn't a shooter or fully developed physically when he came into the league. Melo was the NCAA player of the year. But Lebron was hailed as the chosen one. Yes, I remember Detroit took Darko and Melo went 3rd.

100% true and been that way for more than a year.

False.

Lebron was drafted because he was the best prospect to come into the NBA since MJ or Magic. He was a can't miss prospect. He would have gone ahead of literally anyone in 20-25 years other than maybe Duncan or Shaq.

Melo was passed over by Detroit because they based their decision on darko's potential.

Parker looks more like Melo than Lebron (minus the ball-hogging).

Pretty sure not a single person would argue that lebron was going anything other than #1 that year.

Parker is not like Lebron. His best attribute is probably shooting, which is Lebron's worst

Even if Wiggins starts to put up bigger number then Parker I still say you take Parker. This game alone made me see the truth.

I see this too, just haven't seen much posting up which melo eats sf's up with. I still feel like he reminds me of a young Paul Pierce.

If you read a scouting report that melo was a more complete player than lebron then please provide a link. Everything I read was that Lebron was the most complete player they'd seen since Magic. A guy who could literally play all 5 positions on the court. Lebron was going to be the top pick the winter of the draft. It had nothing to do with melo. It had everything to do with lebron just being a freak player.

Now, comparing darko's potential to Melo's provenness is valid.

^Just checked RIvals. He was #24 there and based on not ever hearing a lot of names in front of him and only a couple behind him I'd say he made up a couple slots since.
I think he moves like Tayshaun. I liked his defense.
