Game thread..Pelicans @jazz.... tank tested

I agree with that. I am rooting for a win tonight. 1 in every 8 games means only 10 wins. I think that would be a more than sufficient tank job.

But like UGLI said earlier, we are not going to have the stomach at the end of the season to actually "tank" so getting in our losses in a lopsided way early in the season is our best bet for getting a top pick.

I figure as long as we end up with less than 20 wins, we should probably be just fine.

The ONLY good argument for tanking is that we should get the worst record in the league this year. We don't need to be historically bad to do that. The argument you are giving is that we need to be just a little bit better. It is roughly equivalent to saying "playoffs are great, and being a top 4 seed is great" year in and year out. If we are not consistently winning our division, then we probably have no chance at winning a title. The same goes for tanking. If we are not "winning the tank" then what the hell are we doing it for?

What many don't seem to be getting is that we're not "tanking". We're playing our best lineups with playoffs like rotations. And those lineups are being blown away, at home, against some of the worst teams in the league. And you're rooting for this to continue, because guaranteeing a top 4 pick will somehow make us championship contenders?

At the end of this season, we're going to have to pay Hayward big money. We're going to have to decide what to do with Kanter and Burks. There won't be a lot of room to revamp the roster. We're pretty much stuck with what we have. And if what we've seen so far is indeed all we're capable of, I hope you enjoy being a perennial lottery team like the Bobcats.

So if the Jazz look unmotivated and play terrible offense tonight in a game they need to be competitive in, Corbin has to go right? Even with a great roster a coach who can't do those basic things has no business of being an NBA coach.

This is so far off the mark I don't know where to start.

Yeah I see that argument but after seeing just how bad we are I see us losing more games later on in the season than I had earlier predicted. Besides @ the end of the season the schedule gets tough again. We won't be a .400-.500 team for the middle of the season.

We need to show our support for the tank. That means butts in seats. The best time to show our enthusiasm is after a nationally televised event showing off the prospects while the jazz are winless. That is tonight, boys. Buy a ticket, go to the game, stay til it's over and show the FO we're behind them.

Lower bowl, baseline 1, row 20, already down to $30.00 on stubhub.com. Pretty sure I'll start going to Jazz games again this season.

I could understand this pov somewhat if they weren't playing 3.5 on 5 every night. Let them lose until Rush/Marvin and Trey return. Losing with Jefferson, Tinsley, and Lucas doesn't tell me a thing about the players who matter.

I don't disagree with that, but my point of view relates to the current JF milieu. People are hoping for the Jazz to lose every game because the lottery will somehow fix everything! Like I said earlier, we better hope a healthy Jazz team is far more competitive than we've seen.

I don't know what anyone has said before this but losssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssSsssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssSsssssssssssssssse jazz. Win against the heat or another high caliber team

Agreed. I never bought the argument that the Jazz could a) suck enough to be the worst team in the league and b) become relevant adding one player to a team that bad.

Trey's injury truly was a blessing in disguise (I still wonder how you break a bone making a pass and like to pretend it's been faked). No way this team starts as bad as it did with anything resembling competence at point guard. Hell, even Mo Williams would have us at 4-4.

My pair of tickets to check out the new video scoreboard are available for free. If interested, send me a PM. I send the tickets via Flashseats.

Been loving franklin lately tbh

Well, thank God for Franklin. It certainly wasn't fun being ganged up on by a dozen posters being kind of antagonistic, while Liking each others posts. O.o

Hey. I wasn't trying to be antagonistic and I reped one of your posts. It was nothing personal bro.

It's never fun to debate a consensus, but I was being facetious. It wouldn't really bother me even if you were antagonistic. Hell, considering you spend a lot of time on General, I'm sure we must've got into a heated argument at one point. If not, then I'm sure we eventually will. :p

I'm still not sure what your argument is/was. Started out as "3rd-worst is better than 1st-worst" then ended at "1st-worst is ok, but only if we look somewhat respectable". Which I think that most everyone on the board agrees with. No one here is hoping that the current team is full of bad players.
