Following potential 2014 draftees

Now I've never seen Dante Exum play, not even a highlight or anything, but everything about his size and description of his game makes him seem like a slightly more advanced Alec Burks. For the people that have seen him play, is that a fair assessment?

Is there a common comparison scouts are making with him? I know you hate them, but I feel like I don't have a clear grasp on the guy.

I haven't heard many. One scout said Penny Hardaway according to that awful mock site. I don't hate that comp.

*patting myself on back*

Here's the first time Exum was mentioned on this board. (was tipped off by an int'l scout prior to the Hoops Summit... I wouldn't want to potentially mislead Hantlers that this was "MY" opinion, ya know)

April 20 - Nike Hoops Summit Rosters

USA
Andrew Harrison
Aaron Harrison
Julius Randle
Jabari Parker
Aaron Gordon
Kasey Hill
Rondaé Hollis-Jefferson
Demetrius Jackson
Bobby Portis
Noah Vonleh

World
Andrew Wiggins
Karl Towns Jr
Dennis Schroder
Nikola Ivanovic
Gabriel Deck
Dante Exum (have my eye on this guy from Australia)
Sergey Karasev
Mario Hezonja
Mouhammadou Jaiteh
Livio Jean-Charles

Btw.. when I wrote this, and subsequent posts days after in the '14 thread, Exum was NO WHERE to be found on any mock draft board.

Combine the positive attributes of Harden and Roy.

I always thought it was about hunger, not thirst. Nickkkk has led me astray.

Now to answer your query: I would rather play GTA5 online than watch some random Australian play basketball, and I have school and work to deal with as well. And I'm not going to base any player off of just one game. I was just curious if anybody had seen him play more.

Apparently that was your cue to be snarky, but whatever makes you feel better broheim.

There's like a lot of videos of past games you can look up. Basketball camp(I think it's adidas in Treviso or sth), u18/19 in prague this summer. Other youth competitions.
This is a basketball board, so I don't think anyone is interested if you're playing too much GTA 5 unless you proceed to play with real weapons and kill your grandma accidentally.

So I've been thinking what I'd try to do in case I'd draft Parker with this Jazz team.

I've come up with 2 pretty good plans(IMO):
1) You basically trade Hayward+Burks for Rondo. There's multiple ways to do that. During the season if they wanna unload Gerald Wallace you simply give them an expiring. After the season you'd only have to give em these 2. Maybe Evans to make the numbers match depending how much Hayward's sign and trade money is.
Additionally you eye a good defensive shooting guard, who doesn't make the shooting sound silly. Possible targets would be Arron Afflalo for Burke + baggage. Others include a restricted offer to Evan Turner depending on how he performs on long range shots this season. We could also wait until 2015 and target Danny Green or Jimmy Butler in free agency. Shumpert might be desirable too, but I don't know what New York would want in return.
That would leave you with a starting lineup of:
Rondo
Afflalo/Butler/Green/Turner
Parker
Favors
Kanter

2)You extend Hayward and offer max to Greg Monroe. AFter that you trade Kanter + Burke + JL3(non guaranteed) for Rondo.
This gives you
Rondo
Hayward
Parker
Monroe
Favors
And in 2015 you target Jimmy Butler or Danny Green as 3rd wing.

Additionally in both scenarios you draft Micic early in the 2nd(who I like a lot)

I think that's a nice foundation to build around and be successful. I'll maybe to similar possible scenarios around Wiggins and Randle. But they're more difficult in terms of availability of players and tradable assets. Exum and Young as high first rounder would of course be consolation prizes if you don't Wiggins, but in principle give your team similar needs.

Things could change, but right now I prefer:

Wiggins over Parker
Embiid over Gordon
Harrison over Smart

I think Embiid has awesome potential, but it would be hard to take a project in the top 5 of this draft.

I also think people hate on Gordon too much.

Embiid is the next Hakeem.
I agree that Aaron Gordon gets too much grief here.. but I also don't have him top 6.
I'm no longer sold on Andrew Harrison. He was hurt and has only really played 1 game, but I wasn't impressed, at all.

Why do I laugh at this **** so hard?

In fairness to me..

I didn't just mention Exum.. but specifically said I am particularly watching him during that game... because an int'l scout tipped me off.
I never said anything about Jaiteh Pinkut other than he's on the roster.

No, I wasn't calling you out. It's just Ugli, that picture of Will Farrell and saying 'tbh' at the end of everything... idk man. I feel guilty, but it just cracks me up. I'm ashamed...

OKay.. here ya go.

Embiid has the upside Hakeem. A VERY high floor, as well.
Rather than me get into a detailed player evaluation that includes way too much opinion and forecasting.. I'll gladly just go on the record as saying I think Embiid WILL be THE top defensive center in the league within 5 years and have an astonishing career.

It's not 'today' but will take a little time.. he's only been playing bb for a couple years... watch some vids. His height, reach, length, and athleticism... as well instincts are quite remarkable considering his noobness.
