What's new

The Walking Dead

I liked the direction it took. The Governor went thru the fire and when he burned his family pic it showed that he has let go of the past. I do not think he means any harm to Ricks group because they are Ricks group. He wants the prison and sees Ricks group as an obsticle. Nothing more.

After watching part of The Talking Dead after I am starting to think that the Governor and Rick will both have groups of people that are up to 20 in size and that they will work out a tense alliance. Where they support each other from walkers and any other bad guys while keeping an eye on each other from a respectful distance.

Rick has - himself, Carl, Michonne, Tyrese, Sasha, Daryl, Maggie, Glenn, Herschel, that doctor guy and assorted kids and unimportant adults.

Governor has - himself, Martinez, two women and a kid.

Where is the other henchman and Carol. Will they both join the Governors group?

Personally I would have had Carol find him in the pit with the little girl. More of a "oh crap" moment.

With the state of mind Carol was in, they couldn't have had that scenario without blowing her new character arc. She would have had to kill him, and would probably have done so out of hand then rescued the girl. Would have been a decent way to take out the governor though.

I'm not so sure. She did what she did to survive. She know the governor can survive. She makes the hard choices regardless of how she feels about them personally.

Well, actually if you look at the killings she did in the camp, she killed people who "might" be a threat later, people she knew and were part of her group, killed them while they were still people before they had turned, by her own admission. The governor is a known threat, absolutely zero doubt about that. I think to be consistent with her "new" persona she would have just killed him outright.

True but does her need to a group now over ride her sense of a threat later.

As for the Governor they perceive him as a known, direct threat. I do not think he is or even views himself that way anymore. The Governor appears to have gone thru some big changes. I hope they continue that storyline, I am sure they will, and introduce a few more characters to his group. Such as the second henchman.

Would Carol know The Governor? I'm trying to remember if she had seen him and would recognize him if she came across him. That could be an interesting twist where she unknowingly teams up with him.

Out of the whole group she is by far the most unconnected to him personally.

Glenn - torture
Maggie - torture
Michone - Andreas death, killing his daughter fight scene.
Rick - group protection and endangering his new family
Herschel - Protecting Glenn and Maggie
Daryl - Revenge for Merle

Closest Carol came to direct personal confilict with the Governor is having Axel shot next to her and the dread of preparing for his assault. Don't think she got to close and personal with him.

I think the Governor may try to seek refuge for his new family with Rick and co. The Governors old henchman are clearly the new Bad guys and Rick may be left with no choice but to accept the governor, carol into the group.

I never viewed Martinez as a bad guy. Just a guy who was like Daryl. A butt kicking right hand man.

He wasn't really a character he was kinda just a "boot". He has always only looked out for himself for what we can tell. The governor had at least that odd motivation with his daughter(he had a heart). I think Martinez will prove to be the kinda guy that will kill the helpless just because he has no use for them.

Think again...

Think again...

They either enter open conflict yet again or they exist as neighboring groups with an uneasy truce. I think it is that and a third group enters the picture and forces them to defend each other.

Lol alcoholic ex-army medic.

And Martinez looked to have a group of his own built up. Hard to tell how many of them will live. There's also that big black dude that was one of the Governors original henchmen. I think his timeline won't last long, he hasn't said one word in the entire time he's been on the show.

Shall be interesting to see how the Governor plays on. I like him, I think he's played by a charismatic Morrisey, and he adds life to the show. That last episode was better than most of the previous episodes. Especially the zombie pit part at the end.

A question though is wouldn't punching the undead be risky. Your skin tends to break if you are in a fight and are throwing haymakers. I'd tend to believe that a zombie, which is more skull would break the skin easier.

And if this goes like the comic does... Just expect a whole lot of DEATH.

Yeah but TV is different from comics as people form generally stronger attachments. I am pretty confident one or even 2 of the main group will die, but they can't go wholesale and replace everyone with new characters or they will lose viewers. My bet is that Michonne and Glenn get taken out in the end, but that is really just a guess.

My current list of untouchables, in order of those I least want to see die:

1) Herschel
2) Daryl
3) Glenn
4) Maggie
5) Carol
6) Michonne
7) Rick
8) Carl

Anyone else is completely fair game, imo.

I think Herschel's days are numbered.
I don't know who the next would be to go is. Glenn just overcame that big illness, I'm saying it's Tyreese.

If Herschel is the farmer dude and he is still on the show holy ****ing **** balls ****.

Like, wow.

If Herschel is not the farmer dude, carry on.

Walking Dead has sooo many key actors in it that would not be able to land a bit part on almost any other show.

baffling. Amazing. Amazingly baffling.

Shane's already got his own show, and was in the movie Snitch.

Jon Bernthal rules though, we all knew that. Best actor/character that was on the show hands down.

He is the farmer guy but his position on the world and the walkers changes. He is still religious but he is much more in line with Rick now.

Also as soon as I saw the tank I knew where the angle was going and the sneak peak for next week seems to confirm that. Next week they hint that some major characters are going to die. Also the old Governor appears to be back.

So viny, will we ever find out who was feeding the walkers at the fence at the prison? I sure hope that doesn't end up being a dropped plot-point.
