Following potential 2014 draftees

I like the Joel Embiid kid, trade to get another top 10 pick. Draft Jabari with our pick #1 and the Embiid kid with that 2nd top 10 pick, him and Favors down low would be sick, and he and Favors have enough raw talent that they will produce offensively but defensively those two would be scary good!

Embiid is gonna go 4th or 5th when its all said and done, I think he is out of the question unless we use are own pick.

To clarify, skinny jean dude, I mean he's 'this eras' Hakeem. The closest thing we've seen in some time and may not see another for a while.... not necessarily identical.

The problem moving up in this years draft is there is so much talent most teams will be perfectly happy taking the player that "falls" to them. It would have to be the perfect match for someone to make a move. I would love Embiid and Favors playing D on this team.

I don't know who skinny jean dude is, but if Embiid is a player you can anchor a defense with (and be a perennial DPOY candidate) and build an offense around, then yes, you take him first. There is no easier a way to build consistent success like getting a once-in-a-generation big like that (there aren't a lot of players beyond Hakeem and Duncan to have been such shining examples of this dual-ability).

I'm not saying Embiid is that as I am fairly naive. I think that's an extremely wild prediction to throw around.

.. sorry.... skinny jorts...
I predict Embiid as a DPOY within 5 years and anchoring the d on a decent to great team..

Let me revise, if Embiid is a perennial DPOY and defensive anchor and has the ability to have an offense built around him (his passing is VERY impressive from what little I've seen) - even if he's not as good as Duncan or Hakeem - I'd trade Kanter, Favors, and the GSW pick to get him. If you get Wiggins, Parker, or Exum (provided they deliver on being a premier perimeter player) and a player like THAT? You have an honest-to-goodness, actual CORE. You can basically flesh the rest of the team out with 3 and D guys and if you have a good coach, you're a perennial contender.

I think its 50/50... there are some damn fine players to about 40 in this draft... like normal 20 range at 40.

I just can't see us keeping more than 2 picks. 5 is a lot especially considering how young we already are and how much development we already have to do. I'm not saying we will definitely move up(you gotta have a partner) but maybe we trade for a vet.
