Following potential 2014 draftees

Sheed Sulaimon has really fallen off the face of the Earth. Not sure if he's getting punished or what, but I don't think he's played at all this game.

Matt Jones is out-playing him even when he does play, and Andre Dawkins needs more time IMO. Interesting scenario for sure.



/I'm only posting this because some people earlier were curious about Sulaimon as a prospect. Can't remember who though...maybe BTP or b_line?

I was/am really high on him from what I've seen in his strengths/weaknesses report. I also think in the games vs Kansas he had a terrific crunchtime(Hit 2 threes late in the 2nd half that gave Duke a chance to gain momentum with a defensive stop afterwards)
So why is he struggling? Role? Shooting slump?

Duke's Rasheed Sulaimon didn't play for the first time this season. Krzyzewski said only that Sulaimon -- who averaged 11.6 points last season -- has "got to play better than the guys who played tonight" when asked about the sophomore's playing time.

Yeah considering his size he'll be a real lightning. Long legs for a long and very quick first step. Like a gazelle. He'd be a real terrific fit for the Jazz. With him they could be the next Spurs read and react offense. Burke, Hayward and Exum would be prolly the most unselfish and highest BBIQ backcourt in the league. Everyone willing to do the extra pass, good characters and none afraid to take responsibility. That oncourt chemistry would easily translate into the locker room.

What he has to learn about swatting:
You swat it with ferocity when you're down double digits and you need some momentum. Otherwise you try to not hit the ball like a truck so you have the chance to corrall the rebound afterwards. Especially when you have a 100% block where the defender didn't respect your rim protection and you have good timing on your jump as a defender.

Very impressive.

Embiid is moving up my draft board big time...... So much so that i might have him at #2 behind wiggins.

With the jazz playing alot better with burke, my best case (somewhat likely) scenario now is to get the 5th pick in the draft and Embiid still be available.
 
Anyone know anything about ucla freshmen Zach Lavine? dude is moving extremnely quickly into the top 10 according to Chad Ford

He's definitely pushing the top 2 of the draft. I wonder if we get the #3 pick, and Parker/Wiggins are off the board if we consider moving drafting Embiid, and moving Favors. I like Derrick a lot, but I just don't see DFav and Embiid working well tonight. Kanter and Embiid is theory seems better.

But can you imagine that lineup defensively thought? Robinson & Duncan Lite right there.

I'm only seeing 6 players that are as good as that. I really think Gordon is a bit over-rated. I would be ecstatic with any of the other six, but view Gordon as a 10-15th pick talent which would be a huge disappointment when we started such an impressive tank.

No. I would deffinetly add Gordon. Think he could have a prepaid AK effect with more strength and more athletic.

Why is that? The two most glaring problems would remain, defenders packing the paint and inability to guard the three point line on defense. If we draft Embiid, both Favors and Kanter would need to be possibly moved given their price tag.
