Anyone sign up for Obamacare yet?

I am in the process of signing up for it. We needed to add maternity coverage to our current plan, and I went to compare the cost of doing that or signing up for the socialist medicine that requires all ovaries to be covered regardless, and Obama saved me $411 per month. Without the subsidies from tax breaks, it would have only saved us $389 per month.

I have seen a lot of people say that they are going to have to pay way more, but it seems like once coverage was available, they kind of quieted down on the subject. I wonder if they found out that the coverage is actually more affordable than they thought?

I can't speak for others, but I am glad that we were able to save some money on my family's coverage.

Grars, bline. I'm so glad you saved you some money.

That just happened.

Sure you meant this in the other forum...

I looked through about 100 scenarios right before the exchange launched and couldn't find any where the coverage wasn't VERY reasonably priced at worst. I work with people who would save money if they quit our employer subsidized plans and went onto the exchange.

Obamacare is going to be very good for a large swath of Americans (who are already on medi or cobra or whatever Fed subsidized program).

would rep, but gave out too much.

Isn't it crazy that it seems to be a good thing, but there was so much hate surrounding the subject?

We just left my wife's plan that she was getting through Lone Peak hospital because the plan we got on the exchange gave us 2k less deductible, lower co-pays, and almost $300.00 less per month than what we paid for LAST YEARS plan.

I still hate Obama.

All I know is my company's medical insurance is way more expensive since that dumbass became President.

So get on the exchange and see what it would cost to have your own. We thought we were screwed over with my wife's plan going thru the roof until we learned we could at least check it out. I bet you'd qualify for a much better rate/plan.

I tire of listening to daily co-worker tirades claiming Obamacare is somehow going to change what we have to pay (we work for the state, an obvious indictment of state worker intelligence tbh), and that it's raising everyone's premiums because Joe the Plumber said so.

This is the same used condom we've been wearing for 25 years with the exception of being subsidized by high income earners and transferring where subsidy payments are directed. If you believe congress has been boughten off the wealthy then this is nothing short of a great thing overall.

It's way more expensive since Obama took office, since Bush took office, Clinton, the other Bush and Reagan....

At least now someone is trying to do something about it.

That's not comparing apples to apples. We haven't seen the rate hikes like this.

That's cute that he tried but he made it worse.

same coverage, just more expensive

Last time my insurance went up was a year before aca came in to law. Something about we were below 12 percent for 12 or so years, and then jumped to 16 two years in a row.

Seems to indicate, at least to me, that we were due for a huge increase.

So lets just stop this "obama equips the war axe of rising insurance cost +1" attitude.

Back in 2001, the health insurance company I worked for put out a list of reasons why health insurance was increasing so much faster than inflation. For some reason, ObamaCare didn't make the list.

Where did "Increases in Executive Salaries and Bonuses" fall on the list, just curious.

If it didn't make the list, they lied.
