Out-groups and berhaviors, stemming from joking about rape

Since I'm human, and I know all humans suffer from confirmation bias, I nonetheless think that I don't? I try not to be that irrational.

If you read the article, he admits to being white trash. He knows, and accepts it. It's only negative if you see it that way.

There are certain terms, markers of historical/cultural disdain, that out-groups use on themselves with a sense of irony/reclamation/resignation, which can not be used in different circumstances. Context matters. As a middle-class person, my use of "white trash" would be different from Robertson's use of it, because I'm not in that group.

England spinner Graeme Swann has apologised for making comments on Facebook in which he compared his team losing the Ashes series to rape.

Swann says on Twitter on Thursday he is "sorry to anyone who was offended by my comments. Crass and thoughtless of me in the extreme."

Swann made the comments during a conversation with his brother, Alec, hours after England lost the third test to Australia in Perth to surrender the Ashes urn.

Swann has been criticised by rape charities.
