I didn't see the same two-way potential in those players as I do in Embiid. I'm blown away with what I've seen so far. His passing ability seems like a weird thing to focus on, but it's a very important ability for a player that you hope to run offense through (as evidenced by maybe being the largest single difference between Malone/Boozer/Millsap and Jefferson/Kanter [well, maybe besides being able to catch a ball while moving]). His learning curve is mind-bending, where does it stop???

Julius Randle was billed as this PF with ample perimeter ability, a good jumpshot, and with plenty of athleticism to spare. I haven't seen any of that, although I admit to being plenty naive. What I see is a bruiser that isn't very big, very fast, or very explosive, and he doesn't seem have a great jumpshot or defensive ability either.

Meh. But I of course could be wrong.

That's selling him a bit short, but overall I completely agree.
 
in the case of randle he is being used wrong. no offense pkm, but coach cal is not a goos X's and Os coach. randle will thrive a lot more in a PnR offense. he is not a great post up threat more of a triple threat guy.

There's obviously more to the story than highlight reels and espn takes.

He doesn't pass, even if he's triple teamed. He's terrible against bigger players (rare in college, plentiful in the NBA). He doesn't even try to block shots. He gets to the line simply by taking advantage of his athleticism against smaller players. He has no game outside of the paint. I'm surprised his right arm hasn't atrophied from lack of use. He must be the most overhyped player in this draft.

I'm not pimping Randle, but I will be shocked if you've watched a single game. I have watched every college game, 40+ HS games, and 12+ in person... and I find it offensive that you're suddenly an expert. Based on what, if I may ask?
