Following potential 2014 draftees

I agree, but what about all this "spreading the court" talk?

Trend setters, you put some good 3 point shooters, which I think Burke is a good 3 point shooting point guard, but everyone else is available to accomplish, this, because you have a rotation of bigs of lets say Embiid, Favors, and let's say we try and hang onto Gorbet and we get a stretch 4 like Jon Leuer or keep Marvin or someone who has that ability but is playing as the fourth big for cheap then the length we have at the bigs is consistent and better than any other team and we set the trend to go back to have two good big men on the court like Miami's trend of playing small ball. Our interior defense would be amazing!

That is a nice possibility if we get a shooter on the court with them.

Something like Burke - Doug McDermott/Korver - Hayward - Favors - Embiid is a good team.

You know McDermott is 6'8 and he's not mobile, so I wouldn't expect him to be able to defend wings.

I would love having Embiid on the Jazz. He also reminds me of KG a little too. He is my ranked 3rd on my draft board but if the continues to play the way he is playing I might move him up to #2.

I think Lindsey knows Pritchard too well. He drafts Embiid and his knees don't work while passing on league dominating guards and wings he's unemployed very soon and has to take a step back in the pecking order for the for the next decade until the next opportunity opens up. Embiid is too much risk. Especially when you already have Favors.

Adreian Payne is very interesting with the GSW pick. He is a stretch 4 (38% from 3 this year) that likes to play defense and has a high motor.

Would be interested what scouts opinion on him is. PKM please ask your contacts or whoever else has some.

In this DX analysis it's singled out that his defense is a weakness and BBIQ/feel for the game got questioned. So far this season he's taking good care of the ball, cutting down his turnover ratio by 8% while incrasing his usage by 5%. He's now playing at a 1st/2nd option usage level at 25% for college levels. Will it stay this way? He'll be 23 by time he declares(Little to no upside left). His lack of BBIQ/positioning has given the opponents too many easy baskets in the past due to him not fully utilizing his talents. If he's improved his defense/game awareness that would be the main thing for me to give him the green light. A court stretching version of Taj Gibson with a little less mobility+defense. Lock him in a lifetime contract. Never let go.
His shooting though seems for real as he's already exceeding his success he had last year from range. How many of his threes came from beyond the NBA range though? Someone knows?
I like the energy he's playing with and I'd be willed to pick him with a pick between 13th and 18th at the moment. He'd complement Favors pretty good by spacing the floor in case that Favors working with Malone starts to pay off and he can give you something from the inside or you have a wing that has a mismatch inside on most nights. So if you get Wiggins, Parker taking Payne with GSW's pick might be working and you keep Kanter around as the first big off the bench until he improves or try to get sth in return, but his value next summer might be very low unless he can turn this season around.

This is a pretty good post but one thing I might add is that favors has foot problems (plantar faciaitis) and back issues so maybe lindsey drafts embiid BECAUSE we have favors

I'm not sure what I think about WCS. I think I've resigned myself to no opinion in fear of too much familiarity.

What I see at the collegiate level;
- legit 7'
- extremely mobile
- extreme athlete for 7 footer
- good hands
- ELITE motor (relentless and never takes a play off)
- Very good shot blocker
- Average rebounder (hard to tell with Randle, Poythress, and 6'6 guards all grabbing boards)
- very good in transition

Havjng said that, overall I'm just not really high on him and don't know why. Notice I didn't really list a negative/weakness.... he just screams average big to me.
