Following potential 2014 draftees

I like that peeks said that he thinks wiggins will get alot bigger muscle wise too.

That is about my only concern (too frail)

Indeed. I'm not keen on how to tell how guys can or can't add muscle, but he could use some fo sho. It's freaky how effective he is while still having more room to improve than basically anyone in the country. He's a freak.

Yeah, I like Dawson's athleticism a lot. One of my favorite players in college b-ball. Just doesn't have any skill

why not? both raw with ton of potential. both long and athletic. embiid had better talents around him. took thabeet longer to develop, but he did develop every year at uconn. he was still raw as hell, but he did show many moves that made him get that 'potential' tag. right now, we don't have enough on embiid to be absolutely sure that he won't bust in the NBA. everybody knows his ceiling is super high. but his floor could be lowest out of the usual suspects. if thabeet came out this year he would be in the top 12-13 discussion as well. teams always get blind sided by the crazy measurables

i'm leaning towards embiid being more mutombo with better offense, but can i see him bust like thabeet? yes, i can. i won't be surprised.

embiids offensive moves are fantastic. it is rare for a guy his size to move his feet so well so young. thabeet never learned has to use his legs. a better offensive mutombo is a good comparison. also thabeet never seemed to have a drive and embiid looks to crush everyone he plays against.

PKM - Can you please provide us some insight on current Kentucky players as they relate to the Jazz?

Can you give me the top 4 players in order(based on how well they would fit in with our current roster)?
Where you think they should go in the draft, and how they are playing this year currently.

Thank you in advance.

Need more evaluation time, but as of now...

Julius Randle - will get drafted around 4/5. Playing very well. As a freshman leads the nation in double doubles. Beast at 6'9/255lbs.
Huge motor. Competitor. Leader. Range. Handles. Vision.
Needs to improve his right hand dribble and tighten up handles in the post. Best at attacking from the perimeter and once he gets a little momentum he's automatic to score, get to the line, or both. As a PF he's a bit redundant with the current Jazz roster, but he's a pure PF.

Willie Cauley-Stein - should go around 10. Playing very well. Legit 7 footer with fantastic mobility (last game Calipari had him shutting down Louisville's lightening fast guards.. and he had no problem guarding out on the perimeter. Great shot blocker (was recently averaging 6per).
His offense is raw but he is getting better by the game.. hasn't been playing bb for very long as he was an all-state wide receiver in Kansas (can u say legit speed and good hands??)
Being a center he's definitely not a need for the Jazz.

James Young - probably go 14/15. 3&D. Has ability to become a very good defender and has great size to play 2G at 6'7.
He's a career 45% 3pt shooter and I believe he'll get less streaky (only shooting it at 32% so far this season) as the season continues.
Can also rebound the ball very well. Doesn't lack much of anything, just needs some more game time experience.
I think he would be a good fit for the Jazz with his perimeter shooting and defense.

Andrew and Aaron Harrison (they're twins and their games are fairly similar. - both looking at mid to high teens.
Great ball handlers. Great vision. Strong. Andrew would be a nice pick to play with Burke as he's a legit 6'6 PG.. giving us a different look as needed. Both attack relentlessly. Aaron is a great shooter/scorer.
In the high teens either of these guys can be picked up with nice value and used interchangeably as PG/SG.

Alex Poythress. - early 2nd.. maybe late 1st. Could be a beastly SF but just doesn't have the moxy. Great size at 6'8/240.
If he ever got consistently mean he would be worthy of the lottery.. I just don't think he has 'it.'

He projects as SF? Haven't watched him much but he doesn't seem quick enough. Perhaps he is idk

Yes he's quick enough and uber athletic. He has a shot too... in addition to his mental toughness issue, he needs to tighten his dribble as well.

Not bad cuz he's pretty big guy. Young really left me unimpressed the last game. Hopefully things turn around for him. WCS looks exactly like D Favs to me, cept way uglier

Problem with watching a particular player for UK is their depth means it's a different guy each game... and Cal is usually calling a number at this point in the season. You can usually tell pretty quickly who he tells to take the game over (tells them pre-game).
He likes to have a team of guys that all know they can turn it on when asked. Young is fine and not a worry of mine at all.
He was MVP of the last game, btw.

Word. Meant Louisville game obvi

I suppose Young will look a lot better when the Harrisons get more comfortable driving and dishin. Right now Randle seems to be the only uber efficient playmaker in the tough games.

Like I said, it's pretty hard to put up monster numbers with 6 first rounders on the team.. but Young did have 18pts, 10rbs, 4asts against Louisville.

Holy shiznit! Think I only watched the first ten minutes or so of the game and thought he was underwhelming. Obviously I watched an aberration.

Thank you for this. Randle looks like the most realistic out of the Core 4-5 we crave. I just hope he is enough of a game changer to help the Jazz core take a leap.
Harrison brothers could be a possibility if the Warriors have an injury. Otherwise they are looking way too good right now. I wonder if we'll look at Poythress for our
2nd round? Can you see him fitting in with the Jazz or helping us out?
