Bryant had played in 6 games this season and is again struggling with his broken bone near his left knee. He said he would love to play and show his respect for his fans that support him and vote for him, but added;

"Even though there's so much respect that comes from me to be able to play for the fans, I'd much rather see the young guys go out there and play in the game," Bryant said before the Lakers faced Denver on Sunday night. "They've obviously put the work in to be there that weekend, so I'd much rather see them go in there and participate."

Kobe was ranking 2nd most votes received in the stats that were released in 26th of December.

Kobe definitely shouldn't be in the All-Star game, even if he hadn't gotten re-injured. He's an all time great, but the All-Star game is supposed to be about the players who are currently playing like a bawse. That ain't Kobe.

Too late, I've been vote stuffing Kobe for months.

No but really, the way Kobe looked a few weeks ago, he belongs on that Dennis Rodman Ex-NBA travel team that's in North Korea right now. Kenny Anderson/Kobe/Vin Baker/Charles Smith. SICK.

I really don't like fan voting. I did think it was the coolest thing ever when I was little though.

Wait, Vin Baker is stillballing??

Probably if "balling" is allowed to be a very vague term:

Eccentric basketball star Dennis Rodman and several other former NBA players have arrived in North Korea to take part in a controversial basketball game on the birthday of Kim Jong-Un, the country's young, unpredictable leader.

The friendly contest is planned for Wednesday, when Kim is believed to turn 31, and features a number of NBA old-timers.

Darren Prince, Rodman's agent for 16 years, told CNN on Sunday that Kenny Anderson, Cliff Robinson, Vin Baker, Craig Hodges, Doug Christie, and Charles D. Smith would play against the North Korean Senior National Team.

That would seriously be sweet to be there. Not for the quality of basketball of course, but the spectacle of it all. A 53 year old Craig Hodges bombing away from 3 point range in North Korea for Kim Jong-Un's birthday? Sign me up.

Does anybody here vote for the all-star game? I don't personally, but I'm curious how many do

Kobe ain't talkin to none of you. None.

Better not be a single one of us he be talkin to there.
