Jazz/Spurs Trade with Kawai now injured

With Kawai now injured, now is the time for the Jazz to move and get San Antonio's pick. They will slip if they don't fill his shoes.

The deal is there and is taylor made:

We get their pick and they get: Brandon Rush a perfect 3 & D candidate. I would rather send Rush but the salaries don't match.

San Antonio send us their pick and either Bonner or Diaw who both make about the exact same as Rush and expire this year.... I would expect they would send Bonner since Bonner was out of the rotation for last years playoffs. They have room to take him on straight up if they had a TPE, but I don't know if they do.

My hope is that we get Embiid #1 and then package the Spurs #26 pick with the GSW #23 pick and move up to say #16 to pick up Doug McDermott, Wayne Seldon or some other wing or guard to solidify our bench.

Assets, Assets, Assets

If San Antonio like Rush look for this to happen quick, perhaps tomorrow.

Rudy Gay getting traded again?

I think the world would end before Spurs picked up that dude

The Spurs sure as hell aren't trading Kawhi and a pick for nothing.
The Spurs sure as hell aren't trading Diaw, by far their best 4-man paring with Duncan this year.

Both Marv and Jefferson are perfect candidates to fill in.

I would probably want more than their pick though... (I think we can get more from other contenders/playoffs hopefuls).

I think they would want Marv and Jefferson before they'd want Rush. And realizing this, the Spurs will probably just have someone fill in from the bench and continue to win games until Leonard gets pick. I'd be surprised if they made a move.

Marv or RJ better candidates, my bet is Marv is preferable to them as he plays better D and can stretch 4 as well as occasional 3 for spells.
How about their first + the best second rounder they have (someone remind me if they don't have one) and Bonner- No way they give us Diaw

I thought the OP was talking about trading Kawhi, but no. He's saying they make a trade now that Kawhi is injured. Bonner + 1st for Rush. It's one-sided, there's no way it happens

You guys are asking for too much. They are not going to trade Bonner. He is a 3pt guy and very popular with the fans. If the Jazz were able to get a first out of the Spurs I would be shocked and it would probably cost us Marvin and one of our second's to get it done. The Spurs are not stupid like other franchises. I personally don't think the Spurs are going to panic but after losing to OKC for the third time they might be looking to upgrade their roster even with Leonard's injury.

If we could get their first for Marvin, that would be plenty. Not sure the Spurs would do it though. What do we need Marvin for anyway? In fact, playing him like we have justifies getting a first rounder.

nba trade machine works for Williams and rush for bonner and diaw. spurs would throw in their pick and maybe Danny green.

I dont want bonner diaw or green.... those guys hurt the tank and clog up minutes for the core.

Trade him for a pick and tell the spurs that we dont want anything else in return.

I think the Spurs hold on trading anyone to replace Leonard. If anything, the Spurs will work 10-day magic and bring in a wing from the D-League who will prove to be a rotation guy.

they are all sucking right now and marv and rush are better then them all so not sure how they would hurt the tank.

Spurs are not going to make that trade. Rush has little value because he still hasn't proven he has recovered from his injury. You want the Spurs and maybe Danny Green too. Unbelievable one-side trade for the Jazz.
