Following potential 2014 draftees

Interesting bunch of games tonight

MSU @ Iowa(-5½)
Kentucky(-3½)@ LSU
West Virginia@ Baylor(-6)

Jarell Martin, Jordan Mickey and Johnny O'Bryant will be a nice test for UK's frontcourt

Marcus Smart will be a good pro. He's a Baron Davis type. He'll learn to shoot some eventually.

I like Vonleh too for the Jazz. I'm starting to see a young Rashard Lewis with him.

The problem is that the Jazz need a #1-option scorer, and they're slipping out of the draft range to get such a player.

Aaron Gordon looks like he'll be a dedicated defender and may be the guy who takes on the toughest defensive assignment on the perimeter. I'm not seeing enough offense or perimeter skill to feel good about him playing SF. I don't think you draft a guy with his limitations high in the lottery. He could be a rich man's Ronnie Brewer. AK could hit some shots on the perimeter and was a deft passer.

The Jazz need a triple-threat guy who can create his own offense.

This.

Should be auditioning burks for the role right now since we aint gonna be able to draft that guy

Don't take this personally, but ROFLCOPTER @ the thought of Burks being a legit #1 option. That is a complete fantasy bro.

I dont take it personally.... i know that is how you and most feel and maybe i would dismiss it as well but i have seen enough this year to make me wonder.
Especially the miami and denver games

You know, Fish, I'd probably say Burks can't be a legit #1 option, but ROFLCOPTER @ at anybody who thinks they know for a fact he can't be one.

Ya
In the miami and denver games he was put into the role of #1 option and he looked pretty damn good at it.

I like Burks but try trading him as a #1 scoring option and see what response you get.

Agreed.
And the earth was flat until someone took a chance.
Also, james harden was not a number 1 option his first few year in the league.

Again, I im not saying that I think he is a number one option...... what im saying is that there has been a few times this season when the jazz treated burks like a number one option and both times it resulted in him scoring over 30 pts.

Ak with more heart.

He wont block as much but is a better postion defender then AK. With his work ethic his offense will some along not to mention i didnt know that he was the youngest person in this draft.

Not to worried about the low post game because if the jazz draft him it will be to play the 3. I like his cuting game. Hayward will have to shoot better at the 3 to make the offense run better but i see aaron being a better shooter.

Defensive rebounds bothers me some because he has used his athleticism to get rebounds and hasnt learned proper boxing out technique. This can be learned how ever.

I think he can also play some 4 with an uptempo off3ense (need to get rid of corbin)

<3 His defense and intangibles but he offense is so bad it scares me.

Ya.
Im weary of gordon, smart, and exum.

Thats why we need a top four pick.

I feel that wiggins, embiid, parker, and randle are sure to be quality nba players.

If we are picking late then i prefer vonleh over smart, exum, and gordon.

Not sure why

I agree about Smart and Gordon. I'd feel great if the Jazz got Exum. You know me, I love my foreign players more than my domestic ones!

I appreciate you going out on a limb. Most around here don't. Even more rep coming your way when I can.

If the Jazz lose out on Parker, Wiggins Embiid, Exum and Randle (is there an order to that list? Not sure but it looks good) then I'd almost rather see the Jazz try and trade down to get into the 10 to 15 range and go after James Young. #unpopularopinionalert

Burks is miles and miles away from making the kind of impact Harden made in OKC.

Is no one else on this thread? I'm feeling a bit lonely.

Oh yeah, I forgot that PKM isn't around as much otherwise I'm sure he would get on here and tell me that I'm dumb for one reason or another (maybe UGLI can help him with that).

OGbro, you study the draft too much and fall in love with mediocre talent.

Trading down is almost always a mistake. This is not the NFL.
