What's new

GSW at Utah as Jazz honour Jerry Sloan. 8.30 PM.

i really liked seeing the forward rotation without marvin. marvin is an ok player, but i'm ready to see other guys. i did not miss him at all.

Nice ceremony only thing that marred it was losing to a Mark Jackson coached team. You know he wanted to stick it to Utah tonight.

Nice overall effort for the team but the Jazz lost simply because Burke and Hayward had horrible games. The Jazz have no chance of winning if both guys play bad. Alec Burks is a stud and I was most excited about his jump shooting. If he can consistently make jump shots then he is star in the making.

Someone made the comment that we shouldn't worry about re-signing our young guys because of the ton of cap room the Jazz have, which is true but short-sighted because all you have to do is look at GS to know that you can have a great starting five but if you have no bench your team will be in trouble come playoff time.

I was excited to see Gobert play. While he is very raw offensively his paint defense is worth some minutes. He needs to be coached up regarding the pick and roll and on offense his teammates need to start throwing the ball higher instead at his knees. I was sad to see Evans get hurt. He is a great kid and he was playing really well. Evans was being aggressive with his jump shot. I hope he isn't seriously hurt and he can come back and play. I read somewhere that both Trey and Jefferson were game time decisions because they have been battling the stomach flu so I will cut them some slack for their poor performance tonight.

Dante Garrett was unbelievable tonight. His best game as a Jazzman. I thought he should have remained in the game considering how well he was playing and how poorly Burke was playing. Tonight I thought Corbin made a few bad decisions. Not playing Kanter more, taking out Garrett and having both Burke and Hayward handle the ball down the stretch. Not one of his better games.

I'm in Laramie, great little town. ****tiest winters though.

So you get to go to all the wyoming cowboys football games?...... lucky

The warriors have a franchise player.

We don't.

Those who think Trey, Favors, of Hayward is that, they need to watch the nba more. The closest thing we have to a franchise player is our SG who comes off the bench.

Jerry Sloan will always be the man. Yet, we chose Duron over him, a mark that will always leave a somewhat bitter taste in my mouth.

- Hope that Derrick plays @LAC tonight. Marvin can sit out a couple of weeks, don't need to rush anything!
- Gordon was horrible. Really hope he'll bounce back big time against the Clips
- Alec was amazing. If he can take bout 3 threes a game and hit them on a high rate he'll be unstoppable. The three ball could open up so much things for him. If I'm him I just go and practise my outside shooting all day long. He is already attacking like not many people can do, he draws fouls and finishs in traffic. Gimme mo Alec!
- Enes looked bad in the early going defensively but than got his act together as the game went on. I really liked how he attacked the basket and draw some fouls. Now he just needs to hit 'em. But all in all a solid night but gotta be more active on the boards.
- Rudy with those 18 MIN! Nice to see. And how about dem FTs? 5/5!
- Other than RJs minutes I'm really happy with these stats.
- Trey ain't looking good but let's search for the positive here and you'll find 60% AST%. That's really really good!
- Garrett with his best game as a Jazz! Happy for the kid.
- Hope that Evans is alright. His Js are just so smooth.

Is a video out there of the halftime ceremony? I worked last night and couldn't watch it :/

That would be cool - ESPN of course didn't show any of it. It was already about midnight EST by that time, I didn't have the energy to look for a link online.

makes me wonde rif you have seen the game.
cus jazz coulda and should have won it

If you think Reggie was a better all-round player than Richmond or Sprewell, I want what you're smoking. And I'd take Dumars over him any day.
I'd take Reggie over any of those guys with no hesitation. He knew how to carry a team, and had a warriors mentality

As far as Curry is concerned, he would be great with or without a three point line. Without it teamed would just pack it in. Curry would just play from 20ft and in creating space for the bigs, and kill it from midrange. In my opinion he'd be even more valuable with no three line.
Let's not blame only on the bigs. Where was Burke and Hayward defense?
Hayward didn't play well offensively, but his defense was spot on. Iggy was invisible last night.

Primetime;758698- Gordon was horrible. Really hope he'll bounce back big time against the Clips [/QUOTE said:
Yikes, look at the TOV% - I pretty sure his turnover rate is close to 100% when he tries to lob the ball over the defense on a pick and roll.

I didn't get to watch this game because I was on an airplane.

Can anyone explain to me what happened that caused Burke to have a -29 and Diante Garrett to have a +24?

That seems....extreme.

Diante garrett was straight ballin.... killin it on offense and doing well against curry
Plus burks was the go to guy while hayward and burke were on the bench and burks was killin it in that role with garrett deferring to him

Garrett was on, and played a really good game. Trey got in foul trouble, and struggled when he was on the floor. Curry really torched him. Just one of those odd nights.

In all fairness to Burke, he played when curry was in the game. When curry was in the game the Warriors P&Red the Jazz to death. Why? Kanter and Gobert played Jefferson defense. You would have thought that Curry was Earl Watson out there with the lack of help defense our bigs were giving. A simple P&R with our big sagging 5-7 feet off curry helped give away the game and screw up Burke's +-.

Barry acted all surprised at our defense. Apparently he's never seen a Corbin coached team.

Jon Barry's rant at 4:21 in the 4th says it all. "CMON! This isn't Stockton 2 Malone. You shouldn't stay with the roller. It's simple, stick to curry, trap him, and get the ball out of his hands. You can't keep giving him clean looks for easy 3 pointers."
