14th Tank Platoon

Srs? I didn't know that.

I remember DL citing Chicago as the type of defensive team he wants to build, so you'd think he'd jump at the opportunity to get him.
From the article about DL when he was first hired. . .
Prior to joining the Spurs, Lindsey spent 11 seasons with the Houston Rockets, serving as the team’s vice president of basketball operations and player personnel from 2002-07. Lindsey originally joined the Rockets as video coordinator/scout in 1996, later serving as director of basketball development and then director of player personnel.

Tom Thibodeau was an assistant coach with the Rockets from 2003-2007. Dennis Lindsey was there the entire time that he served as an assistant there. I'm sure that DL is very familiar with Thibodeau and his situation out in Chicago.

if the jazz manage to somehow get thibbs....id **** my pants.

He might really like the organization though. Chicago has been rly hands on from the top with the way they handle their team. We see the same **** going on like this in the nfl, especially the dallas cowgirls. The owner single handedly destroys the team because he has way to much leverage over the coach.

I think thibbs is sick with the tamporing the top people are doing to his team. If he can somehow land in the UTAH I would **** my pants.

its highly unlikely but maybe him and DL have a relationship.

Actually it's documented that Thibs has a good relationship to the Reinsdorfs and word is that they'd rather exchange their management than him. But they want to see if it's working out because they like their management as well. I also don't think Thibs would consider a team that's not immediately entering contention mode and doesn't pay luxury tax. Not gonna happen IMO.

Somewhere between 10 and 12 is the magic number of games that we can still win before the tank is dead.

Thats puts us at 26-28 wins. Any higher than that and we start falling out of the top 5 worse record teams.

Looking at history, it says we need to be in that range to have a good chance to win the lottery.

Every win from here on out can be a big blow to our dreams.

Heres to hoping for a 10 game losing streak or something.

Last night was huge!!

It's really this simple: if Corbin continues to coach this team, it legitimately does not matter where or who we pick in the draft. This "ah shucks/Andy Griffith/we buck the trend/Polly Anna" attitude they have to coaching loyalty only works if you have a Jerry Sloan.

They think they are geniuses and are busy patting themselves on the back about their misguided loyalty all while Corbin is doing a complete hack job. Wasn't he going to be judged on defense this year? Welp.......

Oh cool. I just noticed the new table indicating average wins for position. Wrote my last post before seeing that.

Nice Primetime. Repped. You are doing an excellent job.

According to the table we probably need to be at less than 26 wins.

This is going to be tough. Hope the Jazz pull it off.

The difference in player you get could be huge if your wins end up at 30+ wins.

30 wins is the magic number that kills the tank for sure Id say.

Seems like the Jazz did pretty well the last time they hired a former Chicago Bulls coach. :D

Agree. Corbin cannot be the coach going forward. But there is no reason to replace him before the end of the season. Who right now is available that would step in? No one is going to accept a 40 game contract. Do you let Lowe take over? I think Lindsey already has a short list of candidates and likely wants to wait to see if anyone else becomes available after the season. As mentioned, Thibodeau would be an excellent choice, if Chicago is stupid enough to get rid of him.

Oh, absolutely not, you're right. I'm not saying let him go now. But I also have zero faith he is gone at the end of the season either.

My only hope is that DL gives 2 ****s about the Millers "loyalty" to Corbin and actually believes his charge is to put together the best championship winning organization he can.

"Help me Dennis Lindsey, you're my only hope".

I think there is a greater chance of letting Corbin go under Lindsey than there was under KOC. Lindsey doesn't have to show loyalty to Ty; he wasn't part of that decision to make him the coach. The fact that they did not extend Corbin's contract, Lindsey OPENLY saying Ty would be judged on how the Jazz do defensively...that all gives me hope Corbin won't be back. It's a much kinder exit for Corbin simply saying the Jazz have decided not to extend a contract instead of firing him.

We can cry about not having Hornacek; he was an unknown quantity and has certainly proven himself. But that was never going to happen. Lindsey was committed to having a non-playoff season and getting a top-10 pick. Now we're all hoping top-5. If Corbin can take us there, I say give him a nice parting gift. Maybe hire the coach at UVSC as a scout and have Corbin replace him.

If we were able to just land Jabari and Thibbs then I'd give up any player or asset not named Gordon, Trey, Derrick or Enes. Even then I'd still give up some of that but just sayin'.
