What's new

14th Tank Platoon

They could have won if they had made 5 more ft...

They wouldn't have had to foul Durant and Fisher had Kaman made the foul shot to tie it with about 20 seconds left. Granted, Durant would have probably made a game winner or would have found a way to draw a foul at the end.

Yeah, got my hopes up and then smashed them just like last night.

LA - understands you have to tank to win titles.

You mean having your best players out with legitimate injuries? And half your bench too?

Utah - happy with mediocrity
Yes, let's go the Warrior route and have Greg, Dennis, Ty and our core-5 told they should lose games on purpose. I want to cheer for a franchise that makes a mockery of the sport.

And yet while the lakers are winning titles in 3 years nobody will care if they had 1 bad season.

The Thrill(er) is gone...

Can anyone really be excited over this team? We don't even play the type of bball that will win anything. We chuck away as if we are GS. What have they ever won? And they have the 2 best shooters in the game!

Favors is ignored. Kanter has taken a step back. Hayward is meh. Burke has plain sucked for the last month or so (and again, isn't showing me that he's a NBA PG. He's a great chucker. But where are the dimes? Hell, he is used as a 6 foot SG most of the time).

And To top it off, we aren't going to get a very good draft pick. Yet another role player for a team that has nothing but role players.

*Putting all my eggs in the trade deadline basket!!*

As I'm 99% certain the contracts of Marvin and Jefferson are virtually untradeable (only 3 or so even plausible trading partners...and they probably are not interested), I'm putting my eggs in the summer FA basket. I think Dennis is sticking to the plan he laid out last summer; namely, get a lottery pick (and I doubt he was counting on top-5), clear $30M off the books, determine who to keep, and then go after 1 or 2 FA's to bolster the roster.

Agree, Thriller. I'm incredibly disappointed by this team. You are correct; our offensive system is to let Hayward run wild and the others chuck. Defensively, I'm not sure the Jazz have a system, other than to watch the pretty ball as it soars towards the basket.

I haven't given up, though. I do think we'll see some change this summer. Jazz can be in the trade market or sign FA's. They can faciltate trades for other teams in return for assets. And lastly, I think we win just by making a coaching change. I will be shocked if Ty comes back.

New coach. Add a couple of draft picks (one in the top-10), + Neto + 1-2 FA's. That will be a significant upgrade.
