This is the biggest joke I have ever seen from the commissioners office. Did he not see how Hakeem would sit out a month before the playoffs. Did he not see how the Spurs got Duncan. Did he not see how Golden State tanked so they could get Harrison Barnes.

Does that mean the guys who were actually playing didn't try to win those games? Sure you rest guys, you sit guys out knowing it is going to be harder to win, but that doesn't mean the guys playing are trying to lose games on purpose - these are guys playing for their basketball lives in many cases.

I challenge Silver to watch the last 5 mins of the final twenty games in the W's tank season. I did and it was blatant. Could it be proved? No. But passes were thrown out of bounds with no attempt to save them. Shots were horribly off the mark. OK, you have a few of those per game, I admit. Would be interesting to see what their shooting % and TO rate was during that specific time frame compared to the first 3 quarters. I'd bet both are considerably worse. And, when you have the coach and players laughing, giving each other high-fives and dancing around on the sidelines when they lose the lead and the game, then yes, I think you can say games were lost on purpose.

Not to mention the best "healthy" players on the team sitting the last 2 minutes for no apparent reason.

Yep, I purposely didn't count resting players. Nor did I consider players sitting out with injuries longer than it should have taken for recovery. The W's dd some smart, perfectly legit things to help their tank: trading for an injured player, shutting a key one down for the season. No, it can never be proven. GS could have simply told Stern they needed to evaluate their D-League players. I knew the tank was on when it was reported GS tried to negotiate with KOC to keep their pick and had been turned down. KOC underestimated the number of losses GS could pile up and how far they would ultimately drop. I don't think a "tank strategy" has ever been run so effectively and openly as Golden State's. From the owner on down, EVERYONE (except Silver, apparently) knew they were trying to lose games. The cheering by the bench and fans when big leads were lost was a dead give-away.
 
So far I don't like where Silver is going with stuff. He wants to put a age minimum of 20 on the nba. Which I guess would be fine, but just look at Davis who is 20. And he's saying that the sleeve jerseys are very popular and that he can see advertisements on the jerseys eventually.

Doesn't the CBA have an opt-out year in 2017 or 2018? There's been a lot of grumbling by veterans over the CBA: contracts are shorter and for fewer dollars and the middle-tier vets are getting squeezed out or signing at huge discounts. Only way to resolve that is increase BRI. Sponsored uni's would certainly do that.

I remember one year I was living in the Seattle area and a Sixers team came to town that I think won 9 games that year. The Seattle players did not like their coach (Tom Nissalke) and went out and tanked one for the gipper getting him fired. That game was one of the 9 wins.

Not to mention Mark Jackson pulling out all starters in the 4th quarter to give other players "experience" in the clutch.

Golden State finished the last 20 games with a record of 3-17. Sounds kind of like a typical Gordon Hayward night (sorry, couldn't resist).

I think my favorite game during that stretch was GS at Minny. TWolves were somehow able to lose a 16 point halftime lead by only scoring 33 in the 2nd half. I remembering watching a good portion of that one and laughing at how bad both teams looked as they tried to out-tank each other.

And thats why their tank was executed with so much perfection...they ¨almost¨ won a lot of games but didn't. Against SA they used 7 players. No shame haha.
