Following potential 2014 draftees

He seems like an interesting combo-guard who can also play SF. I just wonder if he has a true position. He's definitely a skilled player, and I think he'll become a better shooter. I think he could do a lot of the intangible stuff that Hayward does. If he keeps working on his offense, he'd be a triple-threat player.

Definitely not a combo guard. He would have trouble guarding SF's in the NBA. The good thing is that he has good PF size (little south of 6'9 with shoes) and a 7'2 wingspan and isn't too skinny. He is basically Magic Johnson minus the athletic ability. Sounds like a lofty comp, but you can't really compare him to any point-forwards because he legitimately plays full-time PG.

Who's Otto Porter of this year's draft?

Yes - I just went there.

I haven't posted in a dozen pages.. or so...

but I know for sure the Utah Jazz have approached a team about trading their GSW pick. For what I don't know. I don't get the impression it's a package with the first.

Makes sense. There is 0% chance we hang on to both picks when the draft is finished. Will trade up in draft or trade a pick for a player who can help us now.

A dozen or more years ago there was a player named Walt Williams who came out of Maryland as a 6'8" PG. He was drafted high in the lottery by Sacramento, but he didn't quite click in the league. He was basically a guy who could play on the perimeter and get an open shot anytime he wanted due to his size. He was a bit more flash than substance in terms of PG skills, and I think KA is a legit triple-diouble capable player. I just wonder where you put KA. I think it's likely he'll end up at SF at some point, but he's got to work on his athleticism and keep working on his shooting.

Who could the Jazz want on the Pacers?

Stephenson?

George Hill?

Only two players that remotely make sense to me. Hill cuz of the Lindsey/Spurs connection. Doubt Pacers would be willing to part with any key pieces given they considered heavy contenders.

He can only get so athletic, which is not athletic at all. Just doesn't have enough lateral quickness to play on the perimeter defensively for long stretches IMO. Would be awesome to see him get drafted by a team willing to get creative with him.

I think the Jazz probably feel like they've got enough good young pieces and that adding another in the mid-late first round won't help our cause much.

I think the same could have been said of Evan Turner, not that Turner is a bad player. It's just that he doesn't prototypically fit any one position, and his skills aren't dominant enough to create much of a mis-match anywhere. I could see KA falling into the same category. Most teams want PGs that are quick, have a quick-release jumper, and can drive to the rim. That's not KA's game.
