Word, I think the crowd got to him and sped him up too much. He wasn't getting as many calls as he usually does because the refs were allowing more contact down low than usual.

He just ain't as good as Hayward.

17-7-7 w/ 3 steals on 11 shots.

That is probably the best all-around game I've seen Kanter play--heavy minutes, good energy level and consistency on both ends, decent offensive output, some nice passes to mix things up, effort on the boards, etc. I think he's a #2 option on a solid team. Hayward or Burks are 3rd options.

His defense was actually solid, especially in the 3rd quarter. I think fatigue, the crowd, and the refs got to him in the 4th. Refs started calling contact at the rim tighter in the 4th quarter and Kanter got frustrated by it.

I think Kanter can be a legit #1 option offensively if he can learn to make his teammates better, for sure.

This game kind of showed my concerns about Burks too. Blazers actually give a ****, so they adjusted their defense rather quickly to contest Burks at the rim. He didn't really do a great job at finishing, wasn't getting foul calls, and wasn't getting teammates easy baskets. He found Burke in the corner towards in the end of the game, but the pass came out about a second too late and let the defense react and contest Burke's shot.

I don't think he's explosive enough to be a 1st option. Teams can focus on him and shut him down if they want. But I'd love to see him play off of Exum or Jabari Parker.

Burke- 32min, 21 pts, 8/16 fg%, 6 reb, 7 assist (mostly from kanter), (had a great 2nd half, I think he was 1/7 after the first quarter..)
Burks- 24mins (), 12 pts, 5/15 fg%, 4 reb. I think he cooled off from sitting so long, just a little off night, he missed a bunch of shots late in the shot clock, but someone has to take them.

Our future is still pretty darn bright! Pretty solid all around play by the young guys!

Can you imagine if we can get upgrades over Marvin and RJ in the draft/free agency and strengthen the bench?
