Following potential 2014 draftees

Explosive is not a term I would use to describe Randle.

He won't dominate the league, either. He'll be solid, but nothing special. Not too much different from Patrick Patterson.

Agreed until the comp... he's a rich man's PPat.

What pick does that deserve.. I'm conflicted.

Vonleh is an athlete like Hayward and Marvin are athletes. Good footspeed with very little body control. Hopefully he doesn't pull a Marv if the Jazz draft him.

I'd be interested to see a list of how the teams that selected a player from Kentucky in the top 10 faired in the subsequent 4 or 5 years.

Wall: bleh
Kanter: bleh
Cousins: BLEH
Brow: bleh

Who else?

Obviously these stories arent complete. But, yeah, not looking very good for all the hype.

Interestingly good article on Randle.

I don't agree with everything he says, but I think he's fairly close to being right on.

Thomas Robinson looked so impressive scoring inside his last year at Kansas that I once compared him to Karl Malone. We can see how that turned out, and Randle doesn't look as impressive at the college level. What Randle can do possibly is be quick and explosive as a face-up player from 15 feet out, like a slightly poor man's Carmelo Anthony, assuming he keeps some of the quickness.

You don't think Anthony Davis is "fair"ing well?

Yeah normally young players on ****ty teams take them to the title. These guys suck

There is ranking Wiggins like 5th, then there is ranking Randle in the 2nd round.

Totally unrelated. That's the same page that evaluated Wiggins very negatively right? If yes then his saying about Wiggins was: Next level talent, with average basketball skills -> bank on potential(top5 worthy)
THen he makes his case that Randle is a total chucker and doesn't excel at anything -> avg role player.
I don't say I support his opinion but he's based it on "new-age" stats and compared it to successful players who played college in the last 6 years.
I'm not sharing his opinion as I can see that many kids have certain skillsets in a developmental phase and still try them in games which hurts their numbers, but scouts see the development.

This makes me thinking why individual basketball coaches who work with NBA talent over the summer don't take the young kids in "pro bono" in time slots when they neither work with NBA draftees nor established NBA studs? Gives them opportunity to develop a bond with talents, and some of the young high school kid's egos aren't getting that tested once they go pro by playing ****ing AAU ********. Imagine a 16 year old Andrew Wiggins spends two weeks each summer with Tim Grover or someone like that.

Just seen the Rockets highlights. DeMarcus is such a *****. Incredible. If he ever getts to the playoff(which i doubt) then if I'm the other team's coach, I simply send someone at him to get him agitated so he talks himself out of the game :D
That dude is so hilarious. #dodgedabullet

Vonleh's shooting 56% from deep, not good enough for some posters... lol

as far as the Randle bashing going on in this thread, i really hate to pile on but id like to point out why i have soured a bit on Julius

#1 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYWEzvrd_bA

#2 - LSU. Randle scored 6points in the loss @ LSU... i was amped to see his response in the rematch... 8 points

anyway having Randle outside of the top 10 or top 5 is absurd he draws a ton of double teams, it will be interesting to see him transition into the league.
