The Perfect Movie

Are we going foreign?

No. I only asked that because I wondered how far the tastes went of the people claiming there were no more "perfect" movies being made... Like music, film watching is not a lazy man's sport....hmmm, which reminds me.

I wonder what you "edited" out...

Didn't know you like Asians. That's good.

Old Boy easily my top 10 movie of all time in terms of plot/twist/story.

Like dem Korean movies. Japanese ish is usually to out there for me though.

"The Host" is also one of my top foreign movies.

Yes on Old Boy and Thirst. I think the Koreans put out some great movies...though not of the same genre, I really liked Mother. And Memories of Murder is great too. Let The Right One In was good. I have not heard of Casshern...added to my list.

Have you seen We Need To Talk About Kevin? ****. So damn good. Also, the Pusher trilogy is decent.

I can't stand the ending though... I know it's based on true story and they didn't want to deviate or make stuff up... but with it being so unresolved, I don't think it can be called "great".

I would also add "The Chaser" to your list.

The Usual Suspects

Keyser Soze is one of the top movie characters of all time.

I agree, but I wouldn't put this movie in the Perfect list if perfect means "raises your desire to watch it over and over again". I've tried to watch it the seconds time after years but it just isn't the same thing at all, knowing the ending.

As a relative expert on Korean cinema, I just want to point out that all of the movies listed are great. But, those movies are merely scratching the surface of a deep ocean of good movies that come out over here. Oldboy, Thirst, Memories of a Murder, The Host, and Mother are just a small part of the work of two directors. The Chaser is the only outlier listed so far.
I wonder if anybody has seen park chanwook and bong joonho's first english language attempts. Both of them came out last year. Stoker for Park and Snowpiercer for Bong which also had a pretty impressive cast.

Not also can watch all the time, but can also live in it?

Perfect movie is this for me:

Please list some Korean movies you would recommend and I'll try to see if I can get a hold of them here. Most of those movies I saw at the International film festival here, otherwise I wouldn't have heard of them either.

Saw the Chaser on a midnight screening, boy was that fun/scary experience.

Bollywood hasn't produced a single watchable movie.
