What's new

Following potential 2014 draftees

I'm getting less and less excited about this draft. From where we'll be picking I want Jabari. And if he's gone then maybe Randle. And if he's gone then to heck with it because the other guys aren't good enough for a top-six pick.

ummm....wut?

So I was looking at Randle's stats, and realized that he got a lot of points from the FT line...roughly 1/3 of his points come from the line, which is a pretty damn good ratio. It actually reminded me of another physical, yet slightly athletically limited big man...Tyler Hansbrough. Got a decent amount of his points from the FT line, yet it wasn't able to translate to the NBA despite having a good mid-range shot and lots of hustle.

I'm just throwing this out here, but what are the thoughts on the possibility of Randle being a rich-mans Hansbrough? Am I way off base here?

Yeah - the season isn't over today. I see NY, Boston, L.A. and maybe even Sacramento ending the season with better records.

LA has the hardest record of anyone remaining. Boston traded Crawford and has been in an unrepentant tankstravaganza since. NY sucks and they're not even trying to tank. Sacremento is trying their absolute best to be good, acquiring Rudy Gay, etc, but they are just that horrible.

We might get lucky and beat out NY and SAC, but I wouldn't count on the others losing stride.

We screwed ourselves out of Jabari, and didn't even try the Core 5 as a starting unit.

Nick Young will return to L.A. which helps. If they can have Gasol, Young, Farmar, etc. healthy they'll be alright.

Boston is up in the air but they do have Philly games for a few easy wins.

NY should have a much better record but they the worst closing team - I've watched them and it's frustrating to watch despite the fact I don't really like the team. I keep watching them and thinking they have to start winning some soon. Plus they also have the joy of Philly, Boston and the Bucks = a few more wins (and they have a chance in beating us twice, Cleveland, Sacramento).

And although my gut tells me Sacramento will have a worse record than us I like how tough they play.

Funny... after all this time, I will not know how the draft goes until a week or two afterward. Seems surreal, cereally.
