Lucas should of punched him in the throat. Get their players to come off the bench and get suspended. Cost them a couple games.
Serves the Rockets right for being a douche org, team, city, fanbase and a blemish on the face of the earth.
it is coaching

I just can't imagine that DL is watching this wreck of a team and thinking, "yea, this is the guy I want coaching this franchise". Please don't rehire Ty. I'm scared to death of a press conference announcing we've re-signed Ty for 5 years!!!
Ty isn't coming back. Id be floored if he is. The Jazz have not engaged him at all in contract talks.
Jazz will get a top 3 pick, use free agency to load the bench and hire a new coach. Jazz win 20 more games next year.
You forgot to include overpay Hayward, and fight for an eight seed and call it progress,
jope, I think you are being overly optimistic that Corbin is the only thing wrong with this team. Maybe some of our guys are just not as good as we think. Possibly?
They are definitely not as good as we hoped, but as we've seen from even weaker teams in the past, system and effort can go a very long way in this league. Right now we dont have either.
I'm talking about being competitive in games, i never said we'd be more than that.
I think some of them can be as good as we hoped. Aside from Hayward (who showed he is not a #1 option, which we already knew) the core has all shown development. Kanters hook, Burke's floater, Burks 3s, Favors O...
All this damn negativity. Lol, what did everyone expect? Sunshine and lolipops?
Maybe i should rephrase,
I dont think they are where they should be at this point in their careers. They finally making jumps in, but usually with players with high potential make those jumps sooner. They have all shown flashes, but that is it. (maybe we wouldve seen this progress sooner if they had more minutes sooner, but that is irrelevant now). I mean, Burks has really made a name for himself this season, and i am happy about that, but really all he has proven is that he can score on bad teams and off the bench.
ALL of our core players are extremely inconsistent, even the ones ending their 4th years. Really, honestly, at this point none of them are more than a 3rd (maybe 2nd... big maybe) option on most good teams, given their consistency issues and defensive liabilities.
Is that we all hoped 3 years ago? no. Which was my initial premise. Not saying they wont be vital players to our success moving forward, but at this point it seems pretty clear none are all-star capable, (which i think most of us hoped 1 of the 4 lottery picks would be).
Or maybe this board is just rubbing off on me.

What do you expect with a coach like we have? He is mostly at fault for the lack of development of our young players. Just look at how he uses them, his sub patterns, how he fails to reinforce them by leaving them on the bench after a good game in favor of some vet who has no future on the team -- how can you develop confidence and consistent play in a young guy when you don't use the player properly, don't give him enough minutes. So many times he could've been given Gobert and Kanter minutes when he has RJ or Marvin playing. The coach is a disaster and to blame for where the young guys are at this stage.
Agreed, and our only real hope at this time is that Ty IS the problem.
Ty is A problem - he is not THE problem. Ty can't make Hayward hit open shots. He can't make Kanter not set the same frickin' illegal screen 5000 times. He can't make Favors impose his will on the opposing team. He can't make Burks not pass up open 18 footers so he can attempt one of his highlight reel moves into the teeth of the defense. He can't make ANY of the Core players a primary option on offense when none of them appear to have the skill set.
This team needs work - getting rid of Ty is just the beginning.
I know what you are saying, and yes the players have to perform, have to work to improve. However, a good coach can also help improve all of those things with coaching, schemes, and strategy.
Example A: Jeff Hornacek
Example B: The bobcats being a good defensive team with Big Al.
They're playing all-star defense. Spurs shot 65% last night, IINM, and Rockets shot 58% tonight. This team is so bad there's actually a chance to lose a home game to Orlando or Detroit.
We need Kevin Murphy back. Sick numbers in the DLeague.
