14th Tank Platoon

lol @ if you think players think like that

They dont give a **** about the lottery, draft or who may or possibly may not be their future teammates

Well they're stupid if they don't think like that. If I'm Burke, I would dream about throwing alley hoops to Wiggins.

Update!

1/31 vs. Golden State Warriors - L - 2:0 on predictions
2/01 @ Los Angeles Clippers - L - 2:0

2/07 @ Dallas Mavericks - L - 3:1
2/08 vs. Miami Heat (back to back) - L - 3:2
2/11 @ Los Angeles Lakers - W (1 more night rest and Lakers played the Bulls 2 days ago) - 4:2
2/12 vs. Philadelphia 76ers (back to back) - L (Philly has a night rest and only a flight from Oakland) - 4:3
2/19 vs. Brooklyn Nets - L (Rested senior legs) - 5:3

2/20 - Trade Deadline - Hopefully DL flips Marvin and Jefferson for something.

2/21 @ Portland Trailblazers - L - 6:3
2/22 vs. Minnesota T-Wolves - L (Minny has 2 nights of rest) - 7:3
2/24 vs. Boston Celtics - W (Both teams have same amount of rest, but Cs on a road trip) - 8:3
2/26 vs. Phoenix Suns - W (PHX on a back to back against MInny the night before, but it's 50-50 with the higher talent level/coaching, young legs and short flight from PHX) - 9:3
2/28 @ Cleveland Cavs (start 6 game road trip) - L (Cleveland having same amount of rest, coming home from OKC and they'll find together for a final playoff push, but it's close) - 10:3
3/02 @ Indianapolis Pacers - L - 11:3
3/03 @ Milwaukee (back to back) - W(MIlwaukee also hosts the Nets 2 nights prior to the game, but it's close) - 11:4
3/05 @ Washington Wizards - L (Home court adv) - 12:4
3/07 @ New York Knicks - L (No back to back and Knicks regaining shape slowly towards the Playoffs and Chandler healthy) - 13:4
3/08 @ Philadelphia 76ers (back to back and finish road trip) - W - 14:4
3/10 vs. Atlanta Hawks - W (Home court and Hawks road trip, 3rd game in 4 nights) - 14:5
3/12 vs. Dallas Mavericks - W (Dallas 3rd game in 4 nights AND on a back to back flying in from Oakland) - 14:6
3/14 vs. Los Angeles Clippers - L - 15:6
3/16 @ San Antonio Spurs - L - 16:6
3/17 @ Houston Rockets (back to back away games against West playoff teams) - L - 17:6
3/19 @ Memphis Grizzlies - L(Memphis has 2 nights rest, Jazz don't and ROAD)
3/22 vs. Orlando Magic - W(It's very close, Orlando has 2 nights rest, coming in from PHX, but home court adv and stuff)
3/24 vs. Detroit Pistons - L(Detroit on a road trip, with 1 night of rest, coming in from LAC. Very close, but I think Detroit's lack of range can't be abused by No-D Corbin)
3/26 vs. Memphis Grizzlies - L(Memphis has 1 night rest, 1st game on the road)
3/28 @ New Orleans Pelicans - L(Same amount of rest and road)
3/30 @ Oklahoma City Thunder - L
3/31 vs. New York Knicks (back to back) - L(NYK unfortunately on a back to back from Oakland as well, but it's very close due to home court)
4/04 vs. New Orleans Pelicans - L(Coming from Denver with 1 night of rest, but close due to home court)
4/06 @ Golden State Warriors - L
4/08 vs. Dallas Mavericks - L(Coming from Sacto with 1 night of rest)
4/11 vs. Portland Trailblazers - L
4/12 @ Denver Nuggets (back to back) - L(Denver with 1 night of rest, but 3 games in 4 nights, but it's at their place. Close one....)
4/14 vs. Los Angeles Lakers - W(Back to back for the Lakers)
4/16 @ Minnesota T-Wolves - L(Minny with 3rd game in 4 nights, but they got home court. Unfortunately close. I hope they're in playoff pursuit)

Due to losses vs Dallas and ATL we're on pace to 24 wins by my prediction.

Do you think the front office is as worried about the Celtics, Lakers, and Kings as we are? Would be devastating to beat the Lakers in the second to last game and drop four spots.

No, because I don't think there has ever been a "tank" command given to Corbin. If that really were the case, we'd be seeing heavy doses of Clark, Thomas and Rush. Beidrins might have even been resurrected from the dead.

Simply put, with schedule analysis as I have done, the front office would likely conclude Boston, LA and Sacramento are in better tanking position than Utah. Jazz have the most "winnable" games at home (i.e. games against fellow tankers or the next tier up, which is teams like Charlotte and Atlanta). Utah should win 5 more home games (at least). I'd say #6-8 is much more likely than #4-5.

It has to be weighing heavily on their minds, doesn't it? I spend an embarrassing amount of time every day stressing about the Jazz, and it's not even my job. Dennis Lindsay has to be fantasizing even harder about Wiggins and Parker than I am, right? (That's right. I said 'harder'.)

I'm just hoping we haven't seen the tank unveiled because of how tough this stretch of games has been. Maybe this Memphis game will be so grueling that Marvin and Jefferson each pull something, and Burke, Hayward, and Favors all find themselves in need of extended rest.

Really though, we all know the Jazz are going to hold their heads high, win the Lakers game, lose some coin flips, draft Gordon or Vonleh, and then have David Locke tell us all summer how the development gained by playing for a team with pride more than made up for any difference in talent sacrificed on draft night.

Really good post right here.
Would rep if app would allow

Pretty much.

And Cleveland is now bacl amongst the tankers. Irving likely out for the rest of the season with a biceps injury. Could work to our advantage if Utah only wins 5 or less and Cleveland manages to win 3. Cavs have two games left with Detroit and one with Boston. Maybe they can win the home game vs. Det and away games @Orl and @Mil even without Kyrie. Boston picks up the two vs. Philly, the game at Cleveland and a couple of others. Going to be an interesting four weeks!
