Following potential 2014 draftees

Any college player?

There is more information and you can more easily compare them to other players. We have seen their weaknesses over a season. Not saying it's an exact science, but there are more knowns in their formula than Exum's.

And yet players still bust. Players like, I don't know, maybe Derrick Williams.

Your logic is seriously flawed. If you don't think that teams have looked at Exum for at least one year that you're just trying to win an argument.

You're looking at it from the team's perspective. I'm looking at it from the player's perspective. If I'm a player, I'd want to be starting every single game, not just the line up that will allow me to play.

Aaron Gordon had made it public that he wanted to play the 3 at the next level. Take from that what you will.

I'm definitely looking at it from the player's perspective. If he's good enough to play, he will.

I think he's more concerned with playing lots of minutes than playing ''the 3''

I love HottieKKK, all of you guys need to chill seriously.

Just because it's your opinion doesn't mean it needs to be ours.

If I see a dumb opinion, I'm going to call it a dumb opinion…even if he is trolling.

I don't give a **** if he has the same opinion as me, but if I disagree with it, I have the right to ridicule his statements.

Quit being a bitch, buddy.

Vonleh seems intriguing, and then I watch him play and am just like, "hmmmm he seems okay, I guess?"

He seems too dumb and unathletic for the NBA. Also, I know he's long, but 6'8" still bothers me -- don't think he'll be able to get those jump hooks off (or his extremely slow face up shot for that matter).

His dribble and spin move look pretty at the NCA level, which is what drew me initially, but I wouldn't be excited to hear his name called on draft night.

Noah's had a substantial change in his body in the past year compared to these other prospects (pics below), he could still be growing aswell hes 22 days older than Aaron Gordon with size 17 shoes and massive hands

from 2011 to 2013 Vonleh has grown 2" and added about 50lbs, he measured 6'9.75 in shoes last year, theres a chance he could keep adding size and end up massive. he went from Gordon Hayward size to Al Horford with a 4" bigger reach, in just a few years.

He'll be a tall, long PF like Lamarcus Aldridge or Chris Bosh. He might end up playing some center too.

Umm…you're the one following me around buddy.

How do you know that Gordon can't start at SF or PF in the NBA? You are assuming he will be a bench player. No? Of course the Jazz want to get a starter, but they are not intentionally going to draft a bust. You pick the BPA and if Gordon is that player then it is the coaches and players job to adjust. There are no guarantees that any player will become the superstar all Jazz fans dream about. I am just warning you now so you don't get overwhelmed with disappointment. No man up, things will get better. ;)

We're all just projecting at this point. Can he bulk up and be as explosive, ala Blake? On the flip side, could he become a more well-rounded player and slot in at the 3 consistently when the lineup calls him to? These are all the question marks surrounding him.

If the answer to either of those questions is emphatically "YES" - I think he'll be in the conversation as the top 4 prospects. But to me it's just a "maybe" at this point, hence he can probably be picked up in the 6th - 8th range.

Frankly, he has absolutely no idea what Gordon can or can not do. Probably has never seen him play outside of highlights.

Whatever bro.

I've drawn the line in the sand in the past before: Pumping Kanter in that Kanter vs Knight argument.

Standing up for MCW when most were on the McCollum/Porter bandwagon.

I like calling it as I see it, and this year I've made it clear my most overrated player (for where he is projected in the 4-8 range) is Marcus Smart. Aaron Gordon I don't mind so much because there is potential there.

We'll just have to wait and see, but I haven't been, and definitely won't be shy making these bold predictions.

Who are the 8 players you take over Marcus Smart?

Why are they better prospects than Marcus Smart?

What don't you like about Marcus Smart?

Anybody can make predictions, lets get some analysis behind your crap, please.

srs question:
how does a fundamentalist analyze the bible?

Perhaps this is just your poor reading comprehension again, but this is the "Following potential 2014 draftees" thread. Lets keep it that way.

If you would like to ask that question, or something similar, take it to the General Discussion board, please. I would rather not ruin/sully one of my favorite threads on this board with your petulance.

I know you can handle yourself but I think you have made a lot of good evaluation of players in the past. I definitely agree on the Smart thing. I was neutral on MCW and really wasn't on the Porter bandwagon. I liked CJ but was worried about his foot injury. I worried about MCW ability to shoot and I was wrong. I wanted Kanter and never wanted Knight.

It doesn't matter because even the GMs get it wrong. No one has a perfect record.

oh, you mean this isn't the "analyzing potential 2014 draftees" thread? ****.

That's what it seemed like in his scouting report. I wouldn't be terribly excited about Vonleh either. Not as our tank prize.

I just don't like my starting PG (and that's who he'll be picking him that high) who have these attributes:

- Question mark over his handle, low assist/TO ratio
- Question mark over his 3pt shooting (and shooting in general)
- Doesn't have a great court vision
- Limited athletically (his best move is backing down an undersized guard, won't work in the NBA)
- Not quick due to his build/size (for the PG position)

I'd rather have someone like Burke running the point, quick, good change of speed, solid Assist/TO ratio, can knock down the open 3's.

I've been waiting for Smart to surprise me this year. But he hasn't really done it. He's still shooting 30% from college 3's. 74% FT shooting. 42% FG percentage overall. To me that just won't do.

Just my opinion though, I know lots of people here love Smart - I'm totally fine with that, everyone's entitled to their own opinion.
