What's new

Orlando Magic @ Utah Jazz

There wasn't much of a chance that we would lose before the game. If you want to get mad about a game then blame the wins we got against the heat and OKC etc. nothing we could do, so let's just watch and see what happens.

if there is a better PG for us in the future, draft him. make him our starter. bench trey. i could careless. but we keep trey and let him do his thing at the end. rare to see a young pg with such a huge balls. dude enjoys taking these shots. he knows he gonna make em. that's a rare quality that doesn't show up in a stat sheet.

Yes, what does show up in a stat sheet is a *&^% poor shooting performance the rest of the game. Utah has the 8th worst FG% in the NBA and is the 2nd worst in points per game. Defensively, they give up the 2nd-highest FG%. This team is a failure on both ends of the court. Meanwhile, the emperor continues to trot out his veteran cronies. I've changed my mind about firing Ty. I'd let him go right NOW. Put in Jones as the interim coach with the mandate to play RJ and MW no more than 20 mins each and give the rest of that time to Thomas and Clark for "evaluation." Even Jeremy Evans would be better since he has a contract for next year.

I'm not mad about the win, I figured they would win. And they SHOULD have won. But they SHOULD have won by 30 points. THis was a ^%$&# performance on so many levels. Either light a fire under these guys or get experience for the young players. But don't tolerate this kind of effort and play.

Very entertaining win. That's the point of All this to be entertained. Trey Burke is more money than George Washington. Nearly knocked over the guys next to men's beer when that shot went in. Jazz needed this win great confidence builder. This is why I love basketball.

So it was your fault!

it's a good thing that trey is only a rookie and he will only get better. needs to work on his stroke and needs to get stronger. dude is a basketball workaholic. he will get better.

and we are already out of getting parker & wiggins anyway. not much separates from #5 to #9

can we go get Beilein as our next coach? that guy can coach. corbin is like a little gatorade boy compared to beilein. he will make trey 20/10 guy instantly.

Also...a big **** you Aron Afflalo. 82% FT shooter choking from the line...Trey's shot should have only tied the game not won it for us.

I hope he gets taller and faster too. With a player like Deron, you could see the progress from the beginning of the season until the end. Sorry, I don't see that from Trey. I really hope I'm wrong, but in taking the player that was a "winner," the Jazz ignored his size and lack of quickness. That's not a good combination to be lacking from a PG in the NBA. If you don't have size, you better have speed. If you don't have speed, you better be able to overpower opponents. Add in the fact that he's a chucker...well, he's got a lot of getting better to do before he's a serviceable PG on a winning team.

obviously coaching isn't there for trey. he isn't utilized properly. i see a tired leg who is adjusting to 82 game season. you get the good and bad from a rookie. we got the top 3 best player in this draft class. i can't complain especially in such a weak draft. i fully expect trey to put up 17/7.5 43%fg by his 3rd season. not good enough to be an all star, but good enough to be a major piece to the puzzle.

regardless of his progress, one thing is sure is that he will make clutch shots, and don't force the action. that's a good quality. trey is built for the playoffs. getting there isn't his job. it's a team game. we need better coaching and better player in every position.

and his stat really isn't that bad. his per 36 is 14.6/6.1 ast. that's respectable. just need to shoot better. low 40%s is definitely doable. Nash did nothing in his first 4 years. got better every year. i see trey getting better and better.

Da ping pong balls son!

I love the jazz so much I have got to stop watching this train wreck. Ive been a fan for over 40 years, I watch as many games as possible. It makes me crazy the Jazz cant understand what every other team understands. You can't win without superstars. they have to lose to have the best chance at a super star. I'm so angry I have to take a step back.

per 36

trey
14.6/3.5/ 6.1ast .382 fg% .916FT% 2.1 tov

d will
13.5/3/5.6 42.1fg% .704FT% 2.3 tov

trey's problem is his inconsistent shooting which is a result of a tired leg, not enough ball movement. settling for jumper because balls don't move and he doesn't get easy baskets. trey's shooting will be fine down the road. 90%+ FT shooter doesn't shoot below 40%fg. he will get better.

improve shooting, be more aggressive, and let trey run the show. his number will drastically increase by 3rd season.

give me a break! we just ended 6 game losing streak. it's hard to lose every game.

I'm surprised you guys aren't blaming hayward who made the play happen. I would have liked the L, but it was unlikely to happen. Cool shot by Trey. I hope we tie for 4th or 5th.

Big time players make big time shots.
