What's new

Orlando Magic @ Utah Jazz

"@DJJazzyJody: Trey Burke used the words "selfish" and "absurd" while answering a question about fans cheering for lottery-friendly losses over wins."

Tell em Trey!

Damn right, I'm selfish. Right now, having more ping pong balls is more important than wins. They're eliminated. What else is there? Would Trey Burke rather play with Wiggins/Parker next year or Vonleh/Harris?

As a competitive athlete you never want to lose. Its the players job to go out there and play as hard as they can every time they step on the floor. I agree with Trey on this. He is doing what he knows. Play to win.

Its the GM/Coaches job to worry about who is going to play and the long term goals of the team. Corbin is coaching to win because he doesn't have a contract. Lindsey did what he could to strip the team down. But we should be more talented with our young guys than a lot of other teams anyway.

Agreed, but nobody should blast the fans, who will (hopefully) still be there in five years. We're not rooting against the team, we're rooting for the franchise.

The fans are rooting forJL3, Beans, Rush, Ian and Thomas to play 40 minutes a piece and let the youngsters rest before they get too tired.

So right.

I doubt they ever had a chance to begin with.

Jazz will probably win 2-3 more games this season.

Magic may not win any.

Agreed. Orlando would have had to win and then go 4-7 the remainder, while the Jazz go 1-11. Neither of the last two is going to happen, so that win didn't mean anything in the O vs. Jazz race.

I'd be bothered if the players weren't trying to win.

Honestly, I could care less what the players say about the fans as long as they give 100% on the court, and are loyal to the team.
