What's new

the ever-changing feelings about Enes Kanter

Dude, you are an absolute idiot. I am a physical therapist. Your bicep is responsible for lifting the ball into the shooting position, and then again it is in contraction while preparing and aiming your shot, and is responsible for stabilizing the head of the humerus, which stabilizes your shoulders, which as everyone knows squared and stable shoulders increase accuracy. If you have a bruised bicep that hurts, you won't be able to hold your contraction the same, it will fight against you, possibly making you flinch, or over contract.

Your video even said there are other muscles than what they are talking about. They are just talking about the ones that cause the ball to spin, give arc, and precise trajectory AFTER the ball is stabilized in shooting position. No foundation, no success.

Pick up ANY anatomy or kinesiology book and it will tell you what the bicep does.

Also, the bicep is in complete extension upon proper follow through.

Do you really think that Kanter magically lost his shot?

It's either the bruise, or fatigue from the wear of the season and minutes he is unused to.

I had not paid close enougha ttention to realise that his shot suffered so much after that bruise. Looked nasty though.

yeah, since LAC (night of bruise) till last night, his mid range jumper had been way off. He had been getting most of his points close to the rim on dunks and put backs. Last night looked a little better though.

If you are what you say you are, then I'll say you're right.

Props to you.

FWIW, I asked my sister about this, as she has both played basketball competitively and is also a PT.

She agreed that it was possible the bruise could affect the shot, but more only if the bruise was a result of a muscle tear. She seemed to think that the adrenaline would override most of the pain if it was just a bruise. Her main message was that it's pretty hard to say unless if somebody has actually examined it, and anybody making a diagnosis off of just pictures and some video wouldn't be able to make a good diagnosis.

So again, I guess it is possible the bruise could alter his shot. I was wrong.

At the end of the day it's not like kanter shot 100 percent from the field up until he bruised himself. He is far some automatic from mid range so who gives a ****?

Dear jazzfanzers, I have shortened the above message so that you can copy-and-paste into different threads and/or place it in your signature.

Dude does the right thing and admits he could be wrong and this is how you respond?

Kind of a dick move

In all fairness his career FG% is 50.6 % That is pretty damn good.

Some other bigs career %s.

Favors - 50%
Cousins - 46%
Monroe - 51%
Bosh - 50%
Gasol (Marc) - 51%
Randolph - 47%
Noah - 50%

Kanter's FG% has gone down 2.5% over the last 5 from his career average of 50.6%

lighten up dude

Fair enough

A little more advanced. looking at this season Red is from 3-10 feet, Green from 10-16. While ok, he is not lights out from 3-16 which was my point. Will say I am little surprised with his 10-16 FG%.

I was hoping someone with more time would do this. Look how close Favors and Kanters numbers are...

Also kanter STILL measures up favorable over all.

Offense is never going to be a problem for Kanter. He will find a ways to score. It is his defense which is atrocious and will determine if he is going to be successful in NBA at the end of the day.
