What's new

trade idea?

How can you say Barnes can't? Jackson apparently has cuts his minutes in favor of Iguodala and Thompson, and one could debate the wisdom of that decision -- and this has affected his play, as well.

Let's not forget that Barnes averaged 16.1 points and 6.4 rebounds in 12 playoff games last year!

Sure the acquisition of Iguodala has something to do with his negative season.

Problems I see are:
-not over athletic -> hurts his post play that he's tried out earlier this season
-not really fast -> can't slash when not coming off a screen for extra seperation against SFs
This point also hurts his defense...

Chances:
-capable 3 point shooter -> can be a catch and shoot threat
-engaged defender -> can be average

IINM, Barnes has played much better when he's started than coming off the bench. But I do agree that the depth of this draft likely means we can pick up a player with as much promise even at #23. That player will also have a couple more years on a rookie deal. I also anticipate the Jazz trying to move up by offering the #23 and the #34 (or wherever those picks eventually fall) to get a pick in the late teens if they see a player they really like. Alternately, if they drop back a couple of spots after the lottery, maybe they can move back to #4/#5 by offering the #23 pick...again, if they have a specific player targeted and fear the team ahead of them will select him.

-not over athletic

I think that if you are in the dunk contest then you must be athletic.

Has there ever been an unathletic player in the nba dunk contest?

Have you seen Barnes dunks this year? Whole competition was a farce!
I've seen 10 better ingame dunks compared to his attempts. He just competed because there was no one else willing to. Even Gerald Green didn't wanna waste his time on that ish!

so you dont think a player needs to be athletic to be in the dunk contest.

Agree to disagree i guess

Even Arron Afflalo is laughing about him.

Y'all are telling me that Barnes hasn't had the opportunity to shoot 3 pointers in Golden State's offense.

I quit. I freaking quit. He's averaging freaking 2.5 3-point attempts in 28 minutes a game, gtfo with this "he hasn't had opportunities" ********. All he had to do was outplay Draymond Green…who by the way is shooting under 40%. He couldn't outplay a freaking role player shooting under 40%?! Y'all are nuts if you think he's gonna be any good. He is a role player at best. At best.

Thanks for providing a video showing his athleticism.

Note that is head is right up near the rim.
Unathlatic guys (jarrin collins, kyle korver, etc) would not even attempt that dunk

Are people saying that they think he is really good?
I must have missed that post. Chill dude

Not a terribly exciting trade for either team. I'd at least wait til the middle of the draft to see what other offers are on the table.

I actually like some of the players in the 20s--like Zach Lavine, Isaiah Austin, Alex Poythress, TJ Warren, James Young, etc. I'd rather take a chance on someone who might be able to play over someone who appears like he can't.

No way. That pick will be Thon Maker. Maker>Barnes

don't want no part of harrison barnes

Barnes is shooting 27% the last 10 games! yikes...... To be honest I think the Iggy acquisition really hurt is confidence.

What sweet karma it would be if the Jazz end up with a better player than Barnes with the gs pick this year!
