Diamond in the Rough: 2014 Draft

Isn't Saric suppose to be good? Though I don't really like his attitude.

I never understood what was so great about him. He supposedly has good awareness/ passing skills, yet has always had a negative assist/turnover ratio.

I'm not sure Saric will declare for the draft....I just read an article that his father says his son is not ready for the Nba yet and he won't allow him to carry around NBA team suitcases and be responsible for donuts.

Ante Tomic part two?

These Croatian players do not seem so enthusiastic to play in Nba. Currently there are no Croatian playing in Nba...it should be a big motivation for them to reach the Nba!

You guys are crazy (no offense). If you wanna talk 'diamond in the rough' it's clearly Cleanthony Early from Wichita St. Dude can straight out play. If the Jazz are unable to get Wiggins, Parker (if he declares) or Gordon, I think he should be the one the Jazz should target at 23rd/24th pick. He has been in school for 4 years/matured and is already ready to step in to help the team immediately.

Btw I'm new here and nice to meet you all.

We're talking about the 8th pick bro. Who's your pick??

i don't like kyle anderson. too slow
i like mcbucket, but not at #8.
i like stauskas, but not in first 15
if payne was 21 instead of 23, i would've taken him at #8 in a heart beat.
i actually think exum can fall to #8.
i also think smart can fall to #8
grant is intriguing, but not in top 10.
lavine has top 10 talent, but he really needs to stay 1 more year. i want immediate contribution. lavine ain't gonna do much first 2 years
i'll stay away from rodney hood in first top 15
james young is very intriguing, but i don't see an alpha dog in him. i need an alpha
aaron harrion is tempting. i can see his ceiling being ray allen. but he really needs to stay 1 more year

damn, it's tough. i'll reach and grab Early and never look back. and hope for payne to fall to us with warriors pick. this means goodbye to nik stauskas. damn. i like stauskas

LOL.. yeah it's hard isn't it??!! You say Exum/Smart will fall, who will get picked in top #7? Vonleh? Very unlikely...

But yeah, if you need a home run, you need to take a chance and take a big swing... LOL

2011 draft was pretty average, I would probably rank them:

1. Kyrie
2. Faried
3. Klay
4. Kanter
5. Burks/Kawhai

1. kyrie
2. klay thompson
3. parsons
4. faried
5. kemba walker
6. jimmy butler
7. kawhi
8. isaiah thomas
9. burks
10. tristan thompson
11. Valanciunas
12. kanter
13. reggie jackson
14. shumpert
15. brandon knight

burks has all the potential to be #2 in this class. but i can't ignore other player's production. let's all blame friggin corbin for this. kanter too. so much talent. just can't put it all together.

and i really wouldn't say it's average. this draft is surprisingly underrated. i mean brandon knight is avg 17.5. shumpert was legit top 6-7 perimeter defender before he got hurt. chandler parsons can ball. kemba walker is figuring things out. and jimmy butler is legit. dude can play. his D on bron was something to watch

Alright guys this has been a good discussion, props all round..

Seems like there are 2 camps ATM:

Camp 1: Prefers the safe option and going with Vonleh.

Camp 2: Prefers to swing for the fences and get either Kyle Anderson, Nikkk Stauskus or McDermott.
