What's new

Following potential 2014 draftees

I agree but ever since the Magic got Shaq and Penny in back to back years while having the worst odds in the lottery the nba changed it and has made it literally impossible for the best teams who didnt make the playoffs to win the lottery

I think since the changes the team with the lognest odds that won was the bUlls the year they got Rose but they wre only the 9th worst team in the league

Yeah you're correct. Nowadays it's .5% for the #1 as the 14th team. Back in the Magic days it were 1.52% as the 12th worst team(out of 28). The Bulls were 9th and had a 1.7% chance to land the #1. The Clippers in 2011 were #8 and the Blazers in 2007 entered tied at #6 before the coinflip they btw lost.

I'm just saying that would be kind of a sign from the universe. Or simply a sign from Adam Silver about tanking ;)
But I'd be happy with the Suns getting the #2 behind the Jazz :P

Before this season I thought he was just an average coach and probably the best recruiter EVER but I thought John C. did a fantastic job with this young team. You can talk about talent all day but in the end the coach has to get the players (who are use to being the man) to play together as a team. I think Cal gets punished for his coaching abilities because he is such a great recruiter. I think he is still one of the top 5 coaches in the NCAA.

If his kids could have made their FTs he would have had another championship and the Memphis championship was lost on a last second shot. The problem with coaching in the NBA is that it is more about managing personalities since any one in the NBA was most likely a stud coming out of college. So if any coach in college has experience managing talent Cal is the guy. I don't know if he would enjoy being an NBA coach though because I think he loves recruiting. Every one just assumes great college coaches can or want to coach in the NBA. The NBA is just a completely different game even thought it is still basketball.

It shows nowhere in the record books of Memphis being in the final four

Vonleh's Haverhill High coach Mike Trovato noted, “Wait ‘til the NBA guys get a real good look at him. Imagine him, running through those ball-handling drills for them. They’re going to be stunned.”

“Noah will definitely be a high draft selection because of two things. First he has an incredible work ethic, always in the gym as a high schooler, constantly improving his skills, his ball-handling ability will amaze front office people,” said a local NBA scout.

“Second is his length. It will make him a perfect four-man in the NBA. He can defend a LaMarcus Aldridge or Dirk Nowitzki because of his size. On the offensive end, he is versatile. He is coachable and has high character. Some team will be lucky when they get him.”

“I felt a little held back,” he admitted. “There was more I could do.” - Noah on his role this year

Why do the Jazz keep floating out the idea of packaging their picks for a vet? I heard DL, KOC, and Randy Rigby all float the idea of packaging picks for a vet. DL said he wasn't sure it would be fair to bring on three rookies. I would be surprised if the Jazz keep their GSW pick.

Nik and GRIII both leaving for the draft...as expected. Going to miss them on the team next year. Go Blue!!

Thought GRIII would play more of a leadership role this year, but Nik took that spot. GRIII is looking like a very late 1st round pick now, maybe even early 2nd, don't you think?

You have to think he will be loving to coach this more experienced squad.
