14th Tank Platoon

No it is not. Not even a little. I do think it is wrong to pin it on that single loss though.

I think that win was probably the most loseable of all of our wins though + was against one of our strongest tank competitors so it does stand out amongst our other wins a little

lol, that sounds an aweful lot like you don't agree.

Why? Winning that Orlando game was not more damaging than any of the Jazz's other 23 wins. I get why as it was off a clutch shot but at the end of the day it hurt us no more than any of those other wins.

I think the wins against Miami, Houston and OKC were more "loseable" but I see what you mean. This was far more dramatic.

On paper yes.

But in real life the orlando game might be the most loseable game of the year. Against a team in direct tank competition. It hurt more to watch us win that game than the others.
Add in when the wins hapoened.
Those wins you mention (heat, rockets, okc) happened when we were not this close to the top 3 so when they happened it wasnt as crushing.

You are arguing emotionally and I get that. That shot by Trey was killer. No contest. But when you step back and look at it than it is all the same.

Not sure if this has been posted yet.

If the Magic and the Jazz finish tied for the third-worst record, the winner of the random drawing could receive no worse than the sixth pick and would have the following probabilities, according to NBA officials:

• To receive the 1st overall pick: 13.80%.
• To receive the 2nd overall pick: 14.25%.
• To receive the 3rd overall pick: 14.55%.
• To receive the 4th overall pick: 23.85%.
• To receive the 5th overall pick: 29.03%.
• To receive the 6th overall pick: 4.52%.

If the Magic and the Jazz finish tied for the third-worst record, the loser of the random drawing could draft as low as seventh and would have the following probabilities, according to NBA officials:

• To receive the 1st overall pick: 13.70%.
• To receive the 2nd overall pick: 14.16%.
• To receive the 3rd overall pick: 14.49%.
• To receive the 4th overall pick: 8.51%.
• To receive the 5th overall pick: 32.37%.
• To receive the 6th overall pick: 15.51%.
• To receive the 7th overall pick: 1.25%.

If the Jazz finish 4th, which is where they currently are, their chances are as follows:

1st: 11.9%
2nd: 12.6%
3rd: 13.3%
4th: 9.9%
5th: 35.1%
6th: 16.0%
7th: 1.2%

I think this is hilarious. https://hoopshype.com/rumors/tag/utah_jazz

Serena Winters: D'Antoni: "I think, if I'm not mistaken, it's the same number of ping pong balls. right? Don't they flip a coin or something?" Reporter then responded w/ no…Utah guarantees that they finish w/ the worst record… To which D'Antoni upon realizing it, said, “I mean, you kind of hate that,” but after a pause, "I thought we (Utah) had the same record?” Twitter - See more at: https://hoopshype.com/rumors/tag/utah_jazz#sthash.hN1dI9RE.dpuf

It was and is more damaging since they are the team right above us in the standings. The losses you need the most are to the teams within 2-3 games of you in either direction. If I ask you would you rather lose to the Pelicans or to the Lakers you would choose Lakers so we wouldn't end up tied with them.

The win against orlando was a 2 game swing.

If we had lost we would have 23 wins and they would have 24. That is why it was so disappointing. Giving them a w is just as important as getting the L.

I'd say it doesn't matter because either loss place Utah in front.

Ignoring any trolling attempts. Since March 22nd we have won 2 games:

ORL: W
DET: L
MEM: L
NOP: L
OKC: L
NYK: L
NOP: W
GSW: L
DAL: L
POR: L
DEN: L
LAL: L

Magic are 23-58 and are in 3rd but could slip to a 3/4 tie.
Jazz are 24-57 and are in 4th but could slip to a 4/5 tie or jump to a 3/4 tie.
Lakers are 26-55 and are in 6th and could jump to a 5/6 tie.

No real complaints btw.

Making the assumption that the other teams win and lose all the games they did besides the ones against us:

If I switch the ORL win for DEN:

Magic are 24-57 and are in 3/4 tie but could slip to 4 (or 3/4/5 or 4/5 tie) or jump to 3.
Jazz are 24-57 and are in 3/4 tie but could slip to 4 (or 3/4/5 or 4/5 tie) or jump to 3.
Lakers are 26-55 and are in 6th and could jump to a 5/6 tie.

If I switch the NOP win to LAL:

Magic are 23-58 and are in 3rd but could could slip to 3/4 tie.
Jazz are 24-57 and are in 4th but could slip to a 4/5 or 4/5/6 tie or tie for 3.
Lakers are 25-56 and are in a 5/6 tie and could jump to a 4/5 or 4/5/6 tie.

By beating ORL we lost out on the chance of getting the 3rd spot by ourselves. By losing to LAL we avoided a 4/5/6 tie.

ORL going to lose to a Pacers team who actually played a few starters. Slight chance of Boston winning which could help us claim #4 outright, but we just need to play crappy this half irregardless.

Shaping up to be a disaster. Boston now getting hammered and Utah up by 10 with Love playing like $%#^. Looks like a tie for 4/5. Guess I shouldn't be too mad; Utah does have the 2nd worst record after the break. And until a couple of weeks ago, it appeared Boston was going to finish 4th and LA and Sacramento were going 5/6.

I'm mad at Ty, he can't even lose properly.
