Analysis: Jazz fans want Parker in the worst way, but their team likely will have to win one of the top two spots in the lottery to get their hands on him. With the players left on the board, the Jazz face a quandry. They can go with the guy with the most upside (Embiid), or they can go with a player who can help them right away (Julius Randle). Assuming Embiid is healthy, I think he's the pick here. Pairing him on the floor every night with Derrick Favors would give the Jazz an unbelievable defensive front line. Landing him also might free up the team to explore Enes Kanter trades over the summer. While the Jazz love Kanter, if they have to pay big dollars to Gordon Hayward this summer in free agency, they might not be able to afford to pay him what he wants next summer.

Analysis: The Jazz drafted a pretty small point guard in Trey Burke last year. Now they add a player who has size and length and the explosive athletic ability that Burke lacks to back him up. Payton isn't a great shooter and needs to add strength, but he's my sleeper of the draft and a great get for the Jazz at No. 23.



I would be in love with this draft!
 
There's really nothing that leads you to believe Embiid is ready to survive a full 82 game season injury free. If he can play most of the games next year at around 20mins per that'd be a huge win, in that aspect Utah might be a decent landing spot for him.

Enes or Derrick would have to get moved by next trade deadline but thats enough time to determine the most effective Embiid-Favors-Kanter combo

I'd be very happy if we got Embiid at 4. He has one of the heighest ceilings of anyone in the draft.
 
If we land any of Wiggins, Parker or Embiid I think that this was an excellent and successful draft.

Agreed but not because of his ceiling. Tyrus Thomas had a high ceiling but had no clue how to play the game. Embiid already has shown a feel along with immense potential. I'd be shocked if he were around at 4 (assuming his back checks out). If he was and we took him, it would be interesting to see what DL does with Kanter/Gobert - if anything.
 
The Jazz aren't picking to solve the last piece of the puzzle. They will pick best player available and increase the talent pool regardless of position. Big men are always harder to get than wings and points.

Bigs are the easiest position to fill in today's NBA.

There several players in the league that have come through the Austrialian Institute of Sports. Bogut comes to mind first.

dribbles only with his right

overated leaping ability

overated first step. (he looks quick vs white kids in australia)

has trouble blowing by defenders

his shot sucks

+ decent passing ability.



and dont bring up that fiba u19 nike challenge b/c enes kanter set a scoring record there and look at where he is at now.

you want to compare exum to a jazz player? alec burks. But not as fast as burks.
