Kerr is eyeing several potential openings around the league, according to sources, and he would prefer to stay on the West Coast. Kerr lives in San Diego, and he has a daughter attending college at Cal, in Berkeley. Contrary to a New York Post report, Kerr has not asked TNT for schedule flexibility in order to take the Knicks job, according to two sources with Turner Sports.

Thoughts?

Sounds like he would be a good candidate for the Lakers. Especially if Phil gives him a ringing endorsement.

Kerr is a name to win the press conference, but once a guy like him takes a high level TNT job and gets paid millions to talk... I just don't think he can be trusted to last very long as a coach. Look at Doug Collins... every few years he leaves to scratch that itch but he usually only last 2-3 years before he wants an easier life. Kerr would be no different. When things got tough as GM of Phoenix he quit to go back to broadcasting after 3 years. I think we want a guy to grow with like... Horny unfortunately.

Steve Kerr trying to save face after all but declaring Jackson would give him the Knicks job.

"Hours after the Jax ax finally fell on Woody, Steve Kerr threw his hat into the ring to officially become the heavy favorite to be Phil Jackson’s first head-coaching hire.

In his first public comments about the Knicks, Kerr said he “anticipates” talking to Jackson about the head-coaching opening that was created by the firing of Mike Woodson on Monday morning...

...Kerr acknowledged he’s still tight with the Zen Master after winning three titles with him in Chicago in the 1990s, and even attended Jackson’s daughter’s wedding.

“We’ve remained close over the years, since he retired from coaching,” Kerr said. “Even while he was coaching the Lakers, I would often have dinner with him on the road if I was playing for another team even, just to catch up.

...A source told The Post’s George Willis last week Kerr “absolutely expects” to get the offer and has talked to TNT about rearranging his broadcasting schedule for the playoffs."

West coast eh?

Lucky for us the play on the east coast of the GSL.

On serious note, I'm surprised the lakers haven't axed DAntoni yet. What are they waiting for?

That is the normal lifecycle for most NBA coaches anyway.

Don't want Kerr just cuz he hit that shot against us #srs

I would be OK with him teaching the players how to shoot. But HC. I'm still on the European coach bandwagon and am gonna stay there until the seat is empty as Cyrone Torbin's heart.

**** Kerr.

Don't like his commentating. Glad he going to get a job somewhere.

Suck a big one Kerr.

This pretty much sums it up perfectly. Why would anyone want Kerr? He has limited experience and based on his crappy commentating, I pretty much disagree with everything he says.

By process of elimination, does this mean that Kerr is interested in the Jazz coaching job?...you know, since Salt Lake City is on the west coast and all.

The West Coast job is the Lakers. That is the job he wants. If he doesn't get it, he will go to NY.

Non story here, move on.

I don't want Kerr. That would be like having Jeter coach the Red Sox. My guys are Messina, Longabardi or Hollins (In that order).
