Following potential 2014 draftees

BTW, I think Aaron Gordon has some bust potential. I know he'll at least be a defensive specialist, but his feel for the game on offense kinda scares me. He's just not very skilled, smooth or nuanced, and I'm not sure this is something that can change. I just don't see him putting up many points consistently. I actually like Vonleh ahead of Gordon and Smart right now.

Worst case he is Tony Allen.

I don't know how I feel about that in this draft.

I'm bored and felt like ranking players.

1) Andrew Wiggins
2) Joel Embiid
3) Dante Exum
4) Jabari Parker
5) Aaron Gordon
6) Marcus Smart
7) Noah Vonleh
8) Jusuf Nurkic
9) Dario Saric
10) Julius Randle
11) Gary Harris
12) Doug McDermott
13) Tyler Ennis
14) Nik Stauskas
15) Kyle Anderson
16) KJ McDaniels
17) Elfrid Payton
18) James Young
19) Clint Capela
20) PJ Hairston

Jabari Parker kinda reminds me of Caron Butler when he was in his prime. Why do people say he has to play PF?

As a 19 year old i think jabari already has like 30 lbs on butler.... and probably is gonna get even heavier

Pretty solid.

I still like Parker ahead of Exum, though. But I could be wrong.

I think right now Parker is better, but I feel like Exum has the potential to be better because of his defensive abilities and because he's only 18 years old.

It's one of those ones that I'm just taking a flyer on, because I really don't know enough about Exum to definitively say that he's better or not…it's really just a guess.

Vonleh is intriguing. He certainly has the right measurements to be a great fit at his position. I think he's undervalued by a lot of people.

Possibly. The main thing for me is he just doesn't seem to have "it" from what I've seen.

No gripes from me. You have Gary Harris too high for me, but pretty good, imo.

So, getting back to Mario Hezonja..... I think he's the kind of guy who will kill it in the playoffs. I would take him in the top 10 if we somehow get another pick.

He didn't declare for the draft until now I suppose(Deadline is tonight if I'm not mistaken). I guess he'll be 2015 then and head over the same summer. Otherwise he's got Saric quality advocates and will have some weird transition.

Jazz select

Andrew Wiggins #2 overall

Zach LaVine #23

Damien Inglis #35

Sign Josh McRoberts. R Jefferson for the vet min.

Burke//Garrett//Burks
Hayward//Burks//LaVine
Wiggins//Jefferson//Inglis
Kanter//McRoberts//Evans
Favors//Gobert//Kanter

Would be a nice lineup!

Ability to play SF:

1. Gordon
2. Vonleh
3. Randle

Shots fired!

Yeah with him it's a tricky one for the teams to evaluate. Do you think the sparks are more than that? Is it his age and his development isn't as much advanced as the one of other draftees? Is it his "heart" or "hunger" that didn't allow him to consistently impact the college game. Obviously he's not ready right away, but he could be in a couple of years. I'm intrigued.
One of these huge upside picks that carry considerable risk with themselves from a fan perspective.

I just didn't know who to put above him.

I love Stauskas, but Harris plays better defense and he can shoot as well.

I'm not a big McDermott guy…again, I value Harris' defense more, so I put him above.

This draft is amazing from 1-4, average from 5-8, and after that…it's all kinda meh.

I think Harris defensive effort/potential justifies such a slot. Even if he may not be more than a 3 point specialist who can also attack closeouts, but not create for himself or others due to his lack of speed/athleticism/explosion/handles.

The other guys right after him on this list have less potential to make impact on BOTH ends of the floor IMO. So I think that spot is well deserved.

I hear you guys and know what you're saying. I just have a 'feeling' Harris won't be good.

Best comp I can find for Garry Harris is Bradley Beal. Both 6'5. Harris slightly heavier at 210 lbs, vs Beal's 202 lbs. Beal shot 40% from 3's in college vs Harris' 35%, but if you believe Harris' stroke is legit then you'd take him.

Beal is playing well for the Wizards right now. I would take a long hard look at Harris at a #8.

The things I have work in his favor is that his on court play looks like he's the guy who likes playing basketball and make a name for himself by playing basketball, and not the guy who got lucky to be 6'7 and likes to see 7 digit numbers on his bank account.
I especially like how he can go over screens, which makes him a good 3 and D prospect as his floor IMO. You can put him on the other point guard to wear him out while your lackluster defense point guard plays off ball defense on their 2 guard, who is in most cases a very limited player in today's NBA.
Also cost effective to have a good PnR defender who can shoot corner 3s and not pay your point guard for the non existent defense he provides.
