Following potential 2014 draftees

ESPN NBA Draft Big Board 9.0 updated today mentions the Jazz as potential landing spots for a couple candidates.

2. Jabari Parker

Parker has his fans, too. He's widely considered the safest player in the draft and the guy who can have an instant impact on Day 1. If the Jazz, Cavs or Pistons get No. 1, I think they would lean toward Parker. The Celtics, Lakers and Kings are all possibilities to take him No. 1, as well. If he can get in great shape in workouts and prove to teams he has the lateral quickness to defend NBA 3s, he'll get even more teams on board.

8. Marcus Smart

Smart appears to be an acquired taste. Some teams love him, while others aren't sold that he does anything well enough to excel in the NBA. I think it depends on how much you value intangibles such as leadership, toughness, motor, etc. Skills-wise, Smart has some holes in his game. But put together the whole package and he's an intriguing player. I think the Magic, Jazz, Kings or Nuggets are the most likely teams to take him in the lottery.

19. Elfrid Payton

Big, athletic point guards don't come along very often, especially ones who can both see the floor and defend. Payton played at a small school and lacks a reliable jumper, but he's my sleeper to keep rising on the draft board. If he played at Duke, he'd be in the top 10. The Magic, Celtics, Raptors and Jazz are all possibilities for him.

26. Kyle Anderson
Anderson is still the toughest player in this draft to project. He could go as high as the late lottery or I could see him slipping into the late first round. It's going to depend on finding the right system and the right coach who's willing to let him handle the ball -- and willing to turn the other way when he can't guard anyone. The Raptors, Grizzlies, Jazz and Heat all could use a player like Anderson.

Jabari is obviously in play in the Jazz get a pick in the 1-4 range. Smart is in play if the Jazz fall to the 5-7 range, Payton and Anderson are in play with the GSW pick at 23.

i want cleathony early with the GSW pick bad

So do I, man. For some reason, I think he'll do really well in the league if given the opportunity to play a lot of minutes. If the jazz fail to get Wiggins or Parker, then Early is a must at 23rd. As stupid as it may sound, I believe he'll be as good as Paul George someday.

I think people forget he was a 4 year guy who happened to have his two best games of his life on the biggest stage..... I'm not as sold on him as some I guess. ... He looked great in the tourney though....

I like the enthusiasm but George is a stretch but he does have some of the same qualities.

Assuming Wiggins, Parker, Embiid, Exum are all gone in the top four picks and we have 5 or 6 I want Smart or Randle.

I've got nothing against him as a basketball player, I just don't like his attitude (floppin/playing the race card).

Playing the race card? I really don't think he would push a guy for calling him a "piece of crap" more was said than that. Smart is a lockdown defender and can play two guard which is a position of need.

Sg Smart
Sf Hayward
Pf Favors

6th man Burks
7th man Early
8th man Gobert

Fixed.

Burks gets no respect around here.

If you do some research on the web you would find that that is all he said. There was even a recording of him if I remember correct. He never said the 'n' word. Smart made it all up.
