Following potential 2014 draftees

This is going to be for certain one of the rare cases where you lean towards need if we are drafting at 2.

Assuming Wiggins goes first, there is no freaking way you take Embiid over Parker. Their potential at this point is pretty equal. Parker even looks like more of a sure thing.

Given that we already have 3 project bigs, we cant be screwing around and taking Embiid when Parker is still available.

Embiid isnt even a sure thing. There are questions about his back, and bigs are more prone to be busts drafted that high. I also think that people need to get out of their heads that Embiid is the next Olajuwon. He may turn out great, but he isnt the next Olajuwon. No one is. Olajuwon is one of a kind. My money is on Embiid not even coming close to Olajuwon status.

Im taking Parker or Wiggins or Embiid....easily!

I don't think the potential for Parker and Embiid looks equal at all, but I do agree that Parker looks like more of a sure thing.

I also disagree over the point that the Jazz can't be screwing around with a project at this point. They won like 27 games or something this year. They're not gonna be in the finals either one of the next two years no matter who they get (unless they get Melo)

It's not quite that easy for me. I'm confident that Parker will be at least a rich man's Danny Granger or prime Caron Butler. The floor is very high, and he projects to be an All Star, but I see Exum and probably Embiid having a greater impact on the game even if they don't reach their full potential, just due to their athleticism and being prototypical for their positions.

The problem isnt that we arent ready to win. Its that drafting Embiid will just complicate things. I would totally agree that drafting Embiid would be the right choice if he was head and shoulders above the next prospects, but he isnt. Parker has star written all over him, and he fills a need. We can keep working with what we have and not have to make any drastic changes.

It makes zero sense to draft Embiid over Parker or Wiggins.

The big question is Embiid's health. That needs to be determined, or the risk is just too high.

But a PF/C rotation of Embiid, Favors and Kanter is probably the most promising in the league.

It's true.

But hell, if we're lucky enough to be in a position to choose between Embiid and Jabari, that's a ****ing great problem to have.

I would think that Parker is more prototypical for his position than Exum. Is Exum a point guard or a a shooting guard?

You seen Melancholia? Gonna watch that one next.

REally excited for it cuz apparently the only music used is a beyond legendary piece by Wagner

No, I was gonna watch it this week cause it's my week off before summer semester starts.

You living in my mind or smth?

I think alot of you are just over thinking this with Parker and nitpicking at him. The dude is a flat out stud....as a freshman too. He showed some pretty impressive things this year. Im convinced.

I guarantee he will be better than the Danny Granger type level players.

He's a PG like MCW, but he can play off the ball. He'll be able to get a step or an open pull-up just about anytime he wants, and he'll make a great pass if he gets trapped.

It just depends on how the decisions makers for the Jazz see it. You, and very many people I would assume, see Parker as a clear-cut choice over Embiid and others do not see it this way. I can't speak too much on the situation. I'm very familiar with Embiid, but I haven't seen much of Parker. Despise the east coast sports to be honest. If I were to make a choice at this point I'd probably lean towards Parker. But if someone's going to be a star you'll be happy with that in a few years even if they were a project.

I think Exum is a wildcard. I know absolutely nothing about him, but many people like him a lot.

My main concern with Parker is his lateral quickness. I don't think that's over thinking, he really just doesn't have it.

He'll still be a stud though.

My concern is that he won't be able to shake his defender at the next level, and he'll have to take tough contested shots. He'll hit some of them, but we want a guy who will get us easy shots, not hit tough shots.

Paul Pierce looked great as a 2nd-option playing off of KG. He wasn't a first-option guy.

Carmello hits tough shots too, but a team can't rely on that when the game is on the line.

Exum is going to be able to get an open pull-up look from 15 - 18 feet all night.

Embiid can score around the rim or collapse the D and pass the ball.

What's Parker going to do that we can rely on?
