Meanwhile in Jazz land Randy Rigby is still googling "good basketball coaches" and reading the Wikipedia entry for Pat Summit.

That strategy could work with players but not with coaches. I hope they have learned their lesson after Corbin.

There are different good coaches available....they have to stay ahead of the game! But please no Boylen!

My remark was "tongue in cheek;" hence the throw-in regarding Corbin.

Rigby is just running interference. Jazz have been quiet on the coaching news because Lindsey already knows who he wants. Prepare for the worst. SA is making a playoff run and DL knows Boylen. Millers probably like him too since he's shown he will live in Utah. It will be Boylen. And we just have to PRAY he's actually a good coach, but was a terrible recruiter and that was the reason for his last two terrible seasons at the UofU.

A good read on all the maneuvering with Stan Van and the Warriors and how Kerr might use the Warriors to leverage the Knicks. (Or is it the Kerr and Jackson using the Knicks to leverage the warriors?).

By Tim Kawakami, one of my favorite NBA writers.

As to Boylen, he can't recruit, he couldn't coach, he was ill mannered, sloppy, never prepared, vulgar and vindictive, but he lived in SLC once so he must be the right choice. But maybe the jazz owners love the green seats and are willing to pay Boylen 3 million a year to guarantee they will see more green seats.

Oh. But everyone says he sits next to Popovich, and he once sat next to Vogel. Corbin sat next to Jerry that worked out well. I sit next to a lawyer twice a month, you want me to set up a trust for you? My neighbor sits right next to a dentist everyday if you need a few extractions you should give her a call. Ostertag spent alot of time around Karl and Jerry, it was a determining factor in his stellar career. My roommate in college was the valedictorian, would you like to see his resume before offering me a job?

I think they are just bidding their time and are going ot go hard after 1-2 people (Messina then Boylen) that are unavailable at this time.

Well if CSKA Moscow is offering David Blatt a contract, I assume that means they know Mess is gone. Hopefully the Jazz have talked to him.

Not a big fan of Stan Van Gundy anyway but it seems like he really doesn't want to coach if the only thing keeping him from coaching is a being fully in charge. Heck Phil Jackson didn't even have that.

I am getting really nervous that the Jazz are going to lose out on Messina and be "stuck" with a lesser coach. I will go ballistic if Lindsey picks Boylen and then tries to sell it to the fans. I DO NOT WANT BOYLEN!!!!!!

Completely agree that DL knows who he wants and right now all we know is that its probably between Messina and Boylen. Luckily Messina will be done with his season before Boylen and then we'll hear good news.

I want and I actually think that the Jazz have at least reached to Messina too, but it might not be the case as well. Because, Messina has been wanting out for a while and he had already informed CSKA that he wants to explore new waters in his career so they actually have been working and thinking together for a smooth changing direction for CSKA. So they've been talking to Blatt since then too, Messina and Blatt are also good friends and I bet they are certainly talking about their careers and future.

Here is my new head coach candidate.

Or, after we hire the first Euro coach in the NBA and win several rings with him, we can go ahead and hire the first woman coach as well. They say she can also make great sandwiches.

Joking aside, it's a great read if you have a few minutes and I really wouldn't mind her among our coaching staff, either as a video coordinator or even as an assistant.

Finally word from Dennis Lindsey on the coachg search....

GM Dennis Lindsey said the Utah Jazz are "getting closer to moving to the part where we’ll reach out" to potential coaching candidates.

Whew, and I thought they were getting further away.

Lol, you reminded me a joke about turtles going to a picnic.

Three tortoises, Randy, Kevin and Dennis decide to go on a picnic. So Randy packs the picnic basket with beer and sandwiches. The trouble is the picnic site is ten miles away so it takes them ten days to get there.

When they get there Randy unpacks the food and beer. "Ok Dennis, give me the bottle opener."

"I didn't bring it," says Dennis. "I thought you packed it." Randy gets worried, He turns to Kevin, "Did you bring the bottle opener??" Naturally Kevin didn't bring it. So they're stuck ten miles from home without a bottle opener. Randy and Kevin beg Dennis to go back for it, but he refuses as he says they will eat all the sandwiches. After two hours, and after they have sworn on their tortoise lives that they will not eat the sandwiches, he finally agrees. So Dennis sets off down the road at a steady pace.

Twenty days pass and he still isn't back and Randy and Kevin are starving, but a promise is a promise. Another five days and he still isn't back, but a promise is a promise. Finally they can't take it any longer so they take out a Sandwich each, and just as they are about to eat it, Dennis pops up from behind a rock and shouts........

"I KNEW IT!......I'M NOT ****ing GOING!"

I hope Lakers or another team doesn't eat our sandwich.

Unless Lindsey has been stringing us along before the big "Messina" reveal, I'm going to be pissed as hell. If it's Boylen, I'm putting in for a name change: BoylenBeGone and my sig will read "Fire Lindsey."

That's a great story. I sure would like her to climp up the stairs and coach in NBA one day.

He potentailly already missed out on MCW. Time will tell but we were looking for a PG and the PG we could have taken but passed on was Rookie of the year.

Hmm reminds me of another year when we selected the wrong PG.......................
