I think what he meant was "as opposed to a power forward" as in, everyone thinks he plays the power forward position, but the way he handles the ball, etc, meaning he can almost play the 3 as well as the power forward position.

When we're at it twisting words in that interview

Randle said as a direct answer to your highlighted "almost as a 3".
"Me handlin' the basketball is somethin' I've always done. I know especially at my position it is vital because you can cause a lot of mismatch problems and stuff like that"
And he was called a power forward previously. That means he thinks his position is power forward.

I'd probably rate him a lot more if he is a legit 3pt threat.... I just don't like the combination of an un-athletic euro who can't really shot it consistently.

I copycat your logic and find the part in the interview where Randle himself says he's a power forward and conclude out of that that he's a power forward.

Steve Smith's been around a long time - I trust him when he says that Randle can be a SF.


Randle is like a young pup, he's got potential, but he'll only be as good as the trainer takes him.
