Stockton a coach better than a person?

^^
Let's not jump to conclusions about John. We all know he was painfully shy and uneasy around people. I think it was evidenced more than enough to pass it off as just being a bad person or in a bad mood. I'm no psychologist, but I tend to think John had some form of Social Phobia.

I went to see the Jazz and Lakers @ BYU around 1988. I stopped John on his way to the tunnel, and he stopped and signed something. Was VERY nice, and even chatted a little.

You obviously have never heard of Jason Kidd or Michael Jordan, have you?

Both were fantastic players. Horrible in other positions.

Malone was a fantastic player. He could be an awesome position coach and trainer. Horrific head coach.

Let's stop trying to train coaches. Let's find one that's proven. Lionel Hollins, welcome to the great state of SLC

I think J-Kidd had the problem of coaching immediately after playing. It may be harder to get people to buy into what you are trying to do. He really turned things around in the second half of the season. I wouldn't say he is horrible. Just had a rough start.

I wont hold my breath but I hope the Jazz front office or Stockton himself read these forums. That is If the Jazz do pick Stockton as their HC.

Many years ago, John Stockton and Karl Malone were fishing in a private pond in Idaho that was owned by a friend of the late Larry Miller. There was a little girl there who is she's a great niece Larry's friend. Being a fan of both players and was so excited to have met them there, she asked both for autographs but got only Karl's. Apparently Stockton at the time was under some contract that he himself can't sign his john doe for fans(at least that's what he told her). Though who would have told if he signed that autograph or not? It's his right to refuse anything to anyone but come on, what kind of person would do that to a young fan?

Now with that said, we all know Stockton is really to himself but is this the type of person we want to lead the team? I just hope Stockton would be a better coach than he was a person about 22 years ago.

That was incredibly difficult to read. It makes me sad when I read posts like this. I only hope that the OP is from another country and English is a second language to him.

Do you try to always be such a condescending *** or is it just natural for you?

And what's bad about being from a different country? Applaud the guy for knowing one language and being able to write fairly well in another.
We need diversity on this board.

Vinylone is just highlighting the deficiencies in American public school system, nothing more, I guess.
I have always thought he must be "the embodiment of diversity" on Jazz bball fora.
Not that I liked what he wrote there, au contraire!
