What's new

A trade is brewing...

What if Cleveland comes along offers us Irving for our first and Burke?
If we have a top-4, I'd say no. Top 4 is a likely franchise player. It would have to be a clear win for Utah. Irving is essentially a #1 for a #4 and #9. Tempting, but Burke is a starter, plus we're drafting a franchise player. Now if that pick was a #6 + Burke, I'd say yes.

The great thing about Lindsey throwing it out there is he MAYBE sets up a bidding war. Two teams are now on record as willing to deal their picks: Lakers and Jazz. And as it sits now, Utah has the best pick. So see if any great offers come in, and then pit teams against each other if multiple offers are on the table.

This is the entire reason things like this get said. Wtf wouldn't you want to hear all offers... of course you would.

I agree

The Jazz could poke around Love's status to see if he would sign an extension here. They can beat any offer LA, NY, or Golden State has.

Im pretty sure love only wants to go to a current playoff team

Its looking the Bulls to me. They have multiple 1st round picks this year and some other young assets.

And they are a playoff team to boot!

This is true but he Warriors could build a trade around David Lee. That way the Wolves get back a proven talent to go with a few young assists. Plus Lee is close to Love in production.

Love will not agree to sign an extension with a 26-win team in a small market.

Seems highly unlikely he would agree to an extension with the Jazz based on wanting to play in a big market on a championship level team.

But man he would be such a good fit next to favors. When we draft wiggins Burke, Hayward, Wiggins, Favors and Love would be a hell of a starting lineup.

Except that Minny would demand the #4 pick + other assets.

I'm very curious to see what the Lakers and Detroit do. If the Pistons get their perennial #8 pick, I wonder if they'll trade it to move a contract like Josh Smith. SVG taking over now.

And Jackson will look to make some changes in New York.
I find it interesting that apparently KOC is going to accompany Lindsey and Miller to the draft lottery. KOC is very accomplished at trade negotiations, something DL has acknowledged. While the others are doing the camera appearances, KOC will be working the back office talking to other GM's.

I'd take Josh to get that pick.
